Blue Seagull

Monday, August 20, 2012. Convenience Is A Wonderful Thing. The grand total of 18 bills, covering 18 months of water was 663.40 yuan (roughly 100 USD)- - amazing! Now granted, while some of the bills were for before I even moved into my apartment, the vast majority of them I have to take responsibility for. I also have to take responsibility for all the electricity bills that I never pay on time. And I know what you're thinking:. What if they turn off your water? Links to this post. Blue Seagull: January 2011

http://www.ramblingsofablueseagull.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 09, 2011. As many of you know I'm not exactly the Julia Childs–Susie Homemaker type. Roomates, youth kids, and friends alike have witnessed my running frantically around the kitchen as the pasta pot boiled over (or the pasta out because I decided that THAT much pasta COULD be cooked all at once), garlic bread burned in the toaster oven, and pasta sauce blurped and spurted all over the stove. These test flights have led me to a few discoveries:. Recipe that is as easy to make as the title ...

Reprinted from the Sept./Oct. issue of RELEVANT. For more politics coverage, visit our politics page. I'm someone who tries to think independently and objectively, rather than simply follow what the pundits tell me to think. Because of that, I've realized I cannot fully embrace either political party. Both sides of the aisle have some great...I kno...

Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Slides: A picture of our trip to Harbin. As told by Mitch Hedberg:. As an adult I'm not supposed to go down slides,. So if I end up at the top of a slide,. I have to act like I got up there accidentally. How'd I get up here? I guess I just have to slide down. That's what you say when you're having fun,. You refer to yourself, and some other people. Harbin was full of slides. I referred to myself and some other people a lot! Links to this post. Wednesday, December 17, 2008.

Nespers in Action: Many questions, few answers

http://nespers.blogspot.com/2009/01/many-questions-few-answers.html

Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Many questions, few answers. So I've been thinking lately- as I'm sure most of you have- about money and possessions. I know it's not a popular topic and actually quite taboo in most cases, however, with all this economy talk it's caused me to really start thinking. Why are there so many people- Christians included- who still have cars, houses, and jobs that are freaking out about tomorrow? I mean, Matthew 6: 33. Amen to all that, Sara. And the photo made me laugh. :P.

http://nespers.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 22, 2008. The weekend after Omaha, our really good family friend, Frank, got married after having been widowed 5 years ago. It was pretty cool to see how happy he is again. That's Frank in the middle, my dad is on the left, and their friend of 26 years, Jim, on the right. Frank's son Keith, my bro Anthony, Jim's daughter Jaime, and me. I've known them all my entire life. Me in anticipation of that dude saying "3.2.1.go! Coming into the final homestretch. Only a few yards to go. The next qu...

Not ready for aarp. Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Still Happy After 35 Years! A lot has changed since I last posted! We retired last spring, and moved to Nipomo. We help Rhiannon with the grandkids. Rhiannon has four kiddos, and Calvin and Kelli and a baby boy. Marty and I celebrated our 35th anniversary yesterday, and I made this video to celebrate. I'm not happy with the quality of this video, but I can't get a better one to upload. Enjoy on a small screen. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Not ready for aarp. Friday, December 30, 2011. I Wished Me a Sucky Christmas. Goodness, I sure caused a fuss when I posted that this Christmas sucked! I love my friends and family who prayed for us, and I appreciate all the cheer-up thoughts. I also enjoyed those who understand and empathized with me, maybe even agreed with me. Marty tells me I always have extremely high expectations for Christmas. I thought I lowered expectations for this Christmas, but maybe I still had high hopes. When I teach I give ...

Life in Asia: Praise and Service

http://chosenambassador.blogspot.com/2009/02/praise-and-service.html

A collection of random stories and thoughts from my life in Asia. Singing with all their might. They didn't care that they were surrounded by a bunch of non-jumping high schoolers or that they looked silly, they were just enjoying praising God! And it challenged me so much because how often am I more concerned with what others may think instead of just praising the Lord? And I thought about how much He must have loved that, the purity and innocence in their hearts. Posted by Amber Jo. What is true praise?
