Sometimes the concept of battle always seems a bit extreme to me, but when you experience it, you see no better metaphor to describe what you are experiencing. This war is is one of identity. What will I call myself by? I have two options: my sin or my Savior. Seems rather simple, but it times of difficulty, it becomes painfully obvious that it is going to be a continually hard-fought battle for my heart.
