Trekking with the Bs. Follow us as we travel. We have an insane calling to be where we aren't. Mike and Deb trekkingwiththebs.blogspot.com. View my complete profile. Friday, September 30, 2016. Flagstaff, AZ and Red Mountain. We had been hit quite a bit of rain and we like hiking in the cloud. Red Mountain hike sounded like a good place to check out 30 miles north of Flagstaff which was new for us. The leaves on the mountains we passed were changing since fall is in the air. Near the end of the trail we ...

Shaking off the crazy at Wave Cave and Queen Creek Olive Mill. It has been chilly here in the valley causing flight delays at Sky Harbor Airport until the sun came up and melted the frost off the planes. We are headed to the mountain on the left, part of the way up is Wave Cave near Gold Canyon. This is a trail?

Lost Dutchman, Siphon Draw and doppelgangers. After working my two shifts, I always feel the need to be outdoors. Even though the temps were a chilly 45 degrees, we headed out to Lost Dutchman State Park. The Peralta Family from Mexico developed a rich gold mine (supposedly) in the Superstition Mountains. Lege...

Peralta Trail and Weaver's Needle. I find hiking helps me get lost in my thoughts and go back to times that I don't think about often but are my real treasures of life. This hike is not only up hill 1900 feet in 2.2 miles but plenty of obstacles to step over and around. Amazing spires along the path. Beautiful hiki...

http://ontheroadabode.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
On the Road Abode: Trading a zip code for a toad. This is the story of our two year preparation to become fulltime RV'ers, and our big, new adventure that began on May 31, 2015. It's just the two of us, and the "fluffy dog", off to see this beautiful country with only the seasons as our guide. We're really doing it! Tuesday, November 25, 2014. How great is it that we have a non-political, non-religious holiday focused on gratitude? Living this happy/grateful life? So with mind and heart making a simple s...

Allison's Post Work Thinking - now that I have time to think: May 2015
http://retiredbicycle.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Allison's Post Work Thinking - now that I have time to think. Saturday, May 30, 2015. We came to Show Low based on reading about the White Mountains trail system on the blog, Occupation of Independence. Now that Jim and I are older, we enjoy the rocky technical trails much less than we used to. The enjoyment of the challenge of negotiating the rocks is now out weighed by my desire to not be maimed. It just takes too long to heal. Tomorrow we'll return with the bikes, and enjoy some suffering at 6,750 feet.

Allison's Post Work Thinking - now that I have time to think: Seafair Weekend and The Blue Angels
http://retiredbicycle.blogspot.com/2014/08/seafair-weekend-and-blue-angels.html
Allison's Post Work Thinking - now that I have time to think. Friday, August 1, 2014. Seafair Weekend and The Blue Angels. The bridge, she is closed. There's a dog in the back seat, the air conditioning was running for him for the entire event. I think it's pretty amazing that they close the bridge and have an air show over the lake in a densely populated area. This was the opening act. They are the Patriots Jet Team. Later in the show, another Huey came in and took them away. Is a Marine plane. It's...

Allison's Post Work Thinking - now that I have time to think. Friday, December 26, 2014. Back to the Tortolitas. Christmas Day we went back up to the Tortolitas. This time we did the Lower Javelina trail. It's a very nice loop. It has some up down, but is not as steep as Upper Javelina. It was a very enjoyable walk. We love that area, it is so pretty and quiet. It makes us feel very peaceful when we're out there. It's a long drive, but hey, it was Christmas! Thursday, December 25, 2014. Since we were all...

Allison's Post Work Thinking - now that I have time to think: June 2015
http://retiredbicycle.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Allison's Post Work Thinking - now that I have time to think. Monday, June 29, 2015. Harrisburg OR to Issaquah WA. Saturday we made the drive from Harrisburg OR to Issaquah WA. It was a terrible drive. Somewhere south of Olympia there had been a car accident. The backup was 4 miles long, with frequent stoppage. Here is Jim, not driving. Here is the traffic. When we reached the point where the GPS on the phone showed the freeway going from red to green, there was nothing! On the left is the Dome of Tacoma.

Oh, the Places They Go! Two retired educators touring the country in their motorhome. Last Few Days in Denver. A Visit to Oklahoma City →. A Brief Visit to Wichita, KA. June 19, 2015. Once on the other side we biked upstream along the river bank. Friends Steve and MonaLiza were here just a couple of days ago and said the river was very high from all the recent rains. We could see debris on the path in spots indicating the water had recently covered it, but the river has returned back to within it...At th...
