RBVL Takes to the Seas. By Katie Honan and Joe McGivney. The Rockaway Beach Volleyball League embarked on a three-hour tour (similar to Gilligan’s) for the first annual (? Bump, Set, Sail Cruise after the games on Wednesday night. The American Princess took off from Fort Tilden for the first aquatic after-party in the league’s history. The general consensus was that this boat ride was the first annual but league officials had to remind folks that this was the only cruise planned. That was easy money.

RBVL Weathers the Storm. By Joe McGivney and Rocky D. Wednesday was filled with rain and thunderstorms all over the NYC area and Rockaway Beach Volleyball League play was in jeopardy. And then 6 PM arrived and all of the bad weather disappeared, making for another beautiful evening of volleyball action. Since week one was cancelled due to excessive wind all of those scheduled games were played Wednesday night instead of the originally planned position night.
