RC BLog: Pretorian 435: April 2015
http://pretorian435.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
The flying monkeys got me. Helis and fixed wing. AMA Intro Pilot Instructor. Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Well, yeah, it ended differently in my head. Beautiful day, no wind. Took the MX2 (which while beautiful, I confess now was not my favorite plane). And the new Eflite Cub out to the Joppa Hill Field. The fuse crashing unceremoniously onto the ground below. Yay, new project, yay. Landing gear and prop, wings, but the fuse is good. Now I want to see if the Sbach wings will fit? Friday, April 3, 2015.

The flying monkeys got me. Helis and fixed wing. AMA Intro Pilot Instructor. Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Align Trex 600e Rebuild Progress Report. The tail assembly, from the power take-off assembly on the left to the tail rotor assembly on the right. The torque tube and those two bearings with their housings are inside the tube. I like this arrangement as it is easy to remove the entire assembly from the frame to make repairs. Subscribe to: Posts ( Atom ). Days Without an Accident. Click photos to enlarge!

The flying monkeys got me. Helis and fixed wing. AMA Intro Pilot Instructor. Monday, May 25, 2015. You will recall that a couple of weeks ago it ended badly for my giant sized MX2. When I underestimated the trees. I got the idea to take the wings off the 30cc SBach that died in a fuel deprivation crash a year ago back in Mississippi on Trash Day. This is what the original MX2 wing looked like. Yeah The landing gear hard point is tilted to starboard. I will fix that. The wheel pants were demolishe...MUST ...

The flying monkeys got me. Helis and fixed wing. AMA Intro Pilot Instructor. Friday, August 29, 2014. The New Bat Cave Flying Lab. I guess I can call the new rc flight lab, my Bat Cave, done! The hallway in the basement, leading into the Batcave. The C-47 graces the wall, but I don't have an outlet to put the under lighting. As you enter, the TV bay. And to the right, my desk and The Lab. I wanted one of the couches, but Maria knew that she wouldn't ever see me expect to eat and pee. Always a fun one thi...

With the arrival today of the new prop shaft from HeadsUp RC (the fastest shippers I have ever frickin' ordered from! I was able to adjust the motor for centerline (no offset), install the prop, check CG and call her done! She is looking really good, and I can't wait for first flight. Well done, Chip! RC BLog: Pretorian 435: Now I'm starting to worry...
http://pretorian435.blogspot.com/2015/07/now-im-starting-to-worry.html
The flying monkeys got me. Helis and fixed wing. AMA Intro Pilot Instructor. Monday, July 6, 2015. Now I'm starting to worry. Here's the scary thing. The right aileron thought its center was full up. It barely moved down. Sound familiar? This happened with the MX-Bach, and the Alpha's rudder, now it was happening to the Alpha's aileron. This time though the small plastic control horn was stripped. I had to replace the entire servo, which failed, and the horn. Took the MX-B up, and the tall grass (it has ...

The flying monkeys got me. Helis and fixed wing. AMA Intro Pilot Instructor. Monday, May 26, 2014. A nice simple day. Met up with Kenny at MCRCC, and the crowd thickened as the day went on. Jason was there helping tune up engines, and got both of Kenny's running. Finally his 1/4 scale Cub running well, he enjoyed flying it in the moderate winds. It ran smooth as silk. Still working on his Sbach engine when I left. This one was a hoot as he flipped it, rolled and looped it! All in all, a nice, simple day.

http://pretorian435.blogspot.com/2015/07/dont-tell-maria.html
The flying monkeys got me. Helis and fixed wing. AMA Intro Pilot Instructor. Monday, July 13, 2015. But, my wife doesn't need to know I decided to replace the dead Sbach 70. Though, really, she'll know soon enough. I finally bought the Sukhoi. SU-26 I have wanted for a very long time. I will use the electronics and motor from the Sbach 70 I lost last week. I really didn't like the way any of my Sbachs fly, but this beauty is a classic airframe and I expect good things from her. Days Without an Accident.

The flying monkeys got me. Helis and fixed wing. AMA Intro Pilot Instructor. Saturday, June 27, 2015. Southern NH Flying Eagles. Last year I checked out a couple of fields and clubs, joined a couple, but never made it out. Yesterday I renewed my membership with the Southern New Hampshire Flying Eagles. AMA Clube 2417, in Merrimack, NH. No electricity, but they have a great geotex runway! Trees at the North end of the geotex runway. Runway 36, looking north. Those are the low trees, and they are furth...

RC BLog: Pretorian 435: Dead Plane Flying
http://pretorian435.blogspot.com/2015/07/dead-plane-flying.html
The flying monkeys got me. Helis and fixed wing. AMA Intro Pilot Instructor. Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Yesterday I had a moment of calm wx and decided to try the A-10 jet and the Sopwith. The A-10 was hand launched, which I hate doing. The first attempt nosed in right away. The second took to the sky but was twitchy! Man with Many Chins. July 17, 2015 at 4:54 AM. Its always sad to see a model thats been crashed though :-(. Subscribe to: Post Comments ( Atom ). Days Without an Accident. MS Coast RC Club.
