The Poetry of Reason

The Poetry of Reason. Thursday, March 14, 2013. What the Pope Dreams First Night on the Job. Sleep does not come. Inconsistencies in the air. He rests on stone. The bed is above a city. He is told: hurl. He sees his picture. On the walls of. Next to the portrait. It is the echo. Of empty rise bowls:. Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani. He breathes in the ocean. His hands cannot exist. In a medium so thick. And heavy with the moon,. They become something green:. Water feathers he uses. The wise fish settles.

The Poetry of Reason: December 2012

http://www.reasonandpoetry.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

The Poetry of Reason. Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Walk it Like a Refrigerator. I went to my Uncle Dan's funeral yesterday. I wrote this poem some years ago based on a phrase Uncle Dan use to say when I was working with him on Murry Street in New York city. When there was a big box to budge, he said “walk it like a refrigerator” assuming we all knew what that meant. But when I thought about it this was very much like so much in our lives. Of course, God has His time for things. And that is how most peop...

The Thinking Mind

Sunday, February 27, 2011. I view development in the form of revolutions. I don't have to take all of them individually to study their effects, i just need to see the bigger ones which are and have changed the world. I see them in the order Renaissance, Industrial revolution and then what i call Commercial revolution or you may also call it monetary revolution for clarity. First of all i don't understand how a cultural movement could ever to come to an end? Aren't we evolving anymore? The industrial revo...

Reason and Radical

Saturday, September 01, 2012. You Didn't Build That. My parents' lives (born 1916 and 1918) were significantly better than their parents (rural and poor) due to 3 things: technology, the government and unions. Technology improvements included the car and improvements in agricultural production that led to the need for fewer farm workers. This opened opportunities for other kinds of work and careers in the growing cities and post-war suburbs. So guess what white America? Posted by Leimodnu @ 5:23 PM.
