Cooking Stuff: July 2012
http://icookstuff.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Wow it's been a while, sorry about that. Although these days there's so much good food reading on the net I suppose I don't need to apologize. Heh. Anyway, I haven't been posting because I haven't really been cooking much. Too hot mostly, but I also don't really like cooking for one. I mean there's only so many sandwiches. A dude can post. Especially since they aren't always. I doubt folks really want to hear "ate another turkey sandwich. It was pretty good", you know? I thought...

Cooking Stuff: How to Halve a Chicken
http://icookstuff.blogspot.com/2009/10/how-to-halve-chicken.html
Monday, October 12, 2009. How to Halve a Chicken. Ok, I really don't know if this is the best way to go about halving a chicken. But it was the first time I had ever done it and it worked just fine, see? Why not, indeed? I had recently read this. Post over at Girlichef about breaking down a chicken, so I figured I would just do what she did and stop when I had two halves. I figured out a couple things while doing it, one little trick and one fact. The fact? Making stock with the chicken bits, right?

Friday, May 25, 2012. Easy, Basic, Low Fat Rice Pudding. Part One. 2 cups 2% milk. Bring the sugar and milk just to a boil, add the rice and reduce heat to low. Simmer until the rice is tender and most of the milk is absorbed, 30 minutes (maybe more). Chill in the fridge for a few hours or eat warm. Different sugars will give you different flavors. I've used brown sugar, white sugar and honey, they are all fantastic. Mmm, rice pudding. Who knew something so awesome would be so easy? Yes Is it low fat?

Cooking Stuff: January 2013

Wednesday, January 23, 2013. I'm Still Here. Sort Of. So I am still around and even still cooking, the reason I haven't posted lately is my camera is being stupid. Or possibly it's my computer, I'm not sure. But I can't get my computer to acknowledge my camera's memory card which is unfortunate since I've been baking a lot of bread lately and it's pretty photogenic. Here is a crappy nighttime pic of some along with a chunk of seared flank steak. chipotle onions and broccoli sauteed in the steak juices.
