An aspiring foodie's comments on recipes and cooking, restaurants, cookbooks and cooking magazines, and whatever else might be food-related! Monday, April 30, 2012. Saturday we checked out a new restaurant. Accidentally. We tried to go to Maxies, one of our long-time favorites. But it was a 40 minute wait. And when you have a sitter, you're literally on the clock! So we had to find someplace else. Anyway, great new little restaurant with a fun different style. But, if you're looking for a good desser...

An aspiring foodie's comments on recipes and cooking, restaurants, cookbooks and cooking magazines, and whatever else might be food-related! Monday, April 4, 2011. Ahh Flashback to Spring 2007 . . . Sitting alone at Cafe du Monde in New Orleans, enjoying their patio and people-watching on a lovely New Orleans morning. Oh, and enjoying a plateful of powdered-sugar covered beignets and a glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice. The cooked beignets. They look like scones, but are puffed up and hollow inside.

An aspiring foodie's comments on recipes and cooking, restaurants, cookbooks and cooking magazines, and whatever else might be food-related! Sunday, February 20, 2011. Spaghetti and (Turkey) Meatballs. I've been exploring my Christmas gift to myself: Nigella Lawson's new cookbook, "Nigella Kitchen". I really like her style of cooking and her recipes are usually good ones. Her recipe for Turkey Meatballs in Tomato Sauce was on the menu for this week. 1 medium onion, peeled and quartered. 1 tsp dried thyme.

Jake and Becky Veigel: June 2013

http://b4jsveigel.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Jake and Becky Veigel. Thursday, June 20, 2013. Around here, 5th grade is the end of the line in elementary school. So, yesterday James graduated. The best part of the show was the kids doing the "Marcarena". James was so great, he was totally into it. Not a great picture, but the kids performed a few songs for us to show off that they know the states and state capitols. This is why my pictures aren't the greatest. Getting his certificate from the principal. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). What's Jake up To?

Jake and Becky Veigel. Saturday, December 29, 2012. I'm not the best person when it comes to taking pictures. I would rather watch what's going on. So, there could probably be better photos in this post, but oh well. I have great memories! Waiting impatiently for Christmas to begin. Jackson building his Ninjago Brickmaster. Jake and Becky Veigel: Lots of pics!!

http://b4jsveigel.blogspot.com/2012/10/lots-of-pics.html

Jake and Becky Veigel. Sunday, October 21, 2012. Well, I have stopped remembering to bring a real camera anywhere and just use my phone. And then forget to upload them and make a blog post! Facebook is just so much easier! But I know we have some friends and family that still like the blog so here it is. We went to Iron Kettle Farm and went on the hayride. James can't understand why cows eat hay, he didn't think it was too tasty. I even think Jude enjoyed the hayride. Hockey season at last! Apple picking...

http://b3jsveigel.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Give me your forever . . Not a day less will do . ." Ben Harper. Monday, June 13, 2011. I took the boys kayaking this afternoon as I had some extra time. We started in Cayuga Lake and paddled up one of the inlets until it became a shallow river. The path takes us under bridges and through neighborhoods. We ended up finding a beach ball that was floating down the river. We also found a debit card and an iPod neither of which were close to functional. James did well manning his own rig. This is at Buttermi...

Jake and Becky Veigel: Trunk or Treat

http://b4jsveigel.blogspot.com/2012/10/trunk-or-treat.html

Jake and Becky Veigel. Saturday, October 27, 2012. Here's a few teaser Halloween photos. The ward Trunk or Treat was tonight and the kids had a great time. So much that when we got home Jack refused to have a photo taken so all we have is this picture of me in the background helping him take off his costume! James didn't really have a specific title to his character, so we decided he was the King of the Nazgul with his hood and giant sword. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). http://b4jsveigel.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Jake and Becky Veigel. Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Well, it was more than time to get some new family photos done, seeing that Jude is almost 1. So, here they are, taken at the Cornell Plantations by our good friend Becca Hagen. It was so hard to get a good picture with everyone smiling! I think this one turned out best. Pictures of the boys quickly turned into rough and tumble. Jude just didn't get what he was supposed to do. Can't believe how old James has gotten. Hopefully not too much. I like it. Jake ...

http://b4jsveigel.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Jake and Becky Veigel. Friday, February 17, 2012. A day at the Theatre . . . The local theatre in town very kindly helps the 4th grade classes in all of the elementary schools write, learn, and produce a play. Community volunteers also help the kids write a song that goes along with the play. All of the classes learn each others' song, so this picture is the kids singing. James is in the middle, next to his seated teacher. James really enjoyed the experience and did very well! Friday, February 3, 2012.
