Guernsey Poets: The Hidden Traveller - Richard Fleming
http://guernseypoets.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-hidden-traveller-richard-fleming.html
The Hidden Traveller - Richard Fleming. The over-furnished room, cold as a cave,. Where they had laid him. Between the aspidistra and a spotted mirror;. The sunbeams, slanting by the window, shoaled with dust;. The silent street beyond, devoid of passers-by. Immaculate in laundered shirt and. Suit so rarely worn in life; in death he looked. More like a character from a story than himself. Myself dressed in a suit that day;. The parlour’s silence broken only. By the ticking of a clock;. In the green-wood;.

Guernsey Poets: Aqua Fit Ladies - Diane Scantlebury
http://guernseypoets.blogspot.com/2015/08/aqua-fit-ladies-diane-scantlebury.html
Aqua Fit Ladies - Diane Scantlebury. Splish, splash in the pool of the Beau Sejour. Like dancing swans the aqua fit ladies,. Flick their legs, with arms held high,. A curious assortment of water babies,. In an atmosphere tinged with eau de chlorine. Music pumps to encourage them to break into sweat,. Their heads nod as they struggle to keep foam dumbbells under,. Or avoid the ducking that’d get their hair wet,. Swish, splosh in the pool of the Beau Sejour. Sway the hips of the aqua fit ladies,. The Hidde...

under another sun: Uphill
http://anothersun.blogspot.com/2015/05/uphill.html
Being the blogged observations of Peter Kenny since 2003. Thursday, May 14, 2015. Drained and throaty, with sources of joy difficult to locate. A rainy cold day, so even a cup of tea in the garden precluded. Two poetry manuscripts back. And work all uphill due to low energy and motivation. He has to write an essay on an album from a musician from the 60s or 70s, and we listened to Nina Simone's Nina Simone and Piano! Which makes me want to sob and tear at my own clothes. Posted by Peter Kenny. Peter kenn...

Being the blogged observations of Peter Kenny since 2003. Monday, April 27, 2015. A quick kerrrang with Oskar. Oskar returned to his loving dad, I went back to writing the poem. A quiet but cheery night in with Lorraine and Betty. Watched an episode of one-off dark comedy dramas called Inside No.9. Very good and quite scary. Oskar with his fender telecaster copy. Poet at Jaybern: Mirrors
http://johncbuchanan.blogspot.com/2015/03/mirrors.html
A poet strives to reinvent himself following a road traffic accident in 2008 in which he lost his old self. Saturday, 14 March 2015. The Theme for our last Open Mic was 'Mirror'. To be honest I forgot to write anything for it, so whilst waiting for the evening to start I dashed off this acrostic (the first letters of each line spell mirror). The image I have used displays visually the idea I was trying to get across. There are several more excellent images on this theme if you follow this link. Subscribe...

Poet at Jaybern: Emotions High
http://johncbuchanan.blogspot.com/2014/11/emotions-high.html
A poet strives to reinvent himself following a road traffic accident in 2008 in which he lost his old self. Tuesday, 18 November 2014. Image: A Barroom Brawl - Anton Otto Fischer (1882-1962). The theme for last nights Open Mic was; 'a poem based on an article in a newspaper or magazine'. The Guernsey Press headline; "Mourners involved in Town fight", caught my eye and the following poem was the result. I hope you like it. Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust;. Down into the ground,. Down into town,.
