java girl journal: The Box Illustration
http://javagirljournal.blogspot.com/2010/01/box-illustration.html
Sunday, January 10, 2010. Recently a friend asked me to write down my "box" illustration for parenting or classroom management. Here it is. It comes from the Biblical ideas of parenting from Shepherding a Child's Heart. By Tedd Tripp and Don't Make Me Count to Three. By Ginger Plowman. (I also highly recommend Ginger Plowman's "Wise Words for Moms" chart). I have taken what I learned in both of these books over the years and adapted it to my elementary classroom environment. Scroll to the bottom of the b...

all 10 toes: Bumps In The Road
http://all10toes.blogspot.com/2010/09/bumps-in-road.html
Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Bumps In The Road. I feel like I am currently at a crossroads and I'm not sure what to do. What I'm currently going through is odd and weird and a little unsettling. I won't go into details about it specifically, but just know that it's not a great place to be. No worries, health wise, I'm ok. Since I never know "the plan" I have to trust that God knows what He's doing and have faith that He will get me through anything. I'm not saying this is easy. I'm not even say...I hea...

all 10 toes: January 2010
http://all10toes.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 30, 2010. Snow days, for most people, are relaxing and fun. Most of the time I agree with this. Something about today though. I do not feel relaxed and I did not have fun. Rewind: Tanner has breathing troubles. He had RSV when he was 7 week old and whenever he gets even the slightest sniffle, we are doing breathing treatments several times a day. When he has a hard time breathing, he has a hard time sleeping. When he has a hard time sleeping, we all have a hard time sleeping. View my co...

all 10 toes: August 2010

Monday, August 23, 2010. IV Iron Infusion.Say What? Today was my first IV iron infusion at Virginia Baptist. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't really how I would prefer to spend a warm August afternoon. I've had low iron for several years now and because of my ongoing stomach issues, I don't digest iron pills very well and it doesn't stay in my system long enough to do any good. He recommended getting 2 high doses of iron via infusion and I initially thought he was joking. Say what? Links to this post. The ch...

all 10 toes: Thankful Thursday
http://all10toes.blogspot.com/2011/04/thankful-thursday.html
Thursday, April 28, 2011. Today I am especially thankful for so many things. Below are blessings, a week in review, in no particular order. Family time camping at Lake Anna and playing for 2 days at Kings Dominion. Easter and it’s true meaning – He is Risen! Flip flops and peeky toe shoes. Little man Tanner who is so Larry and so Jamie, it's scary. Lunch with Jill Botham and my dad all in one week. Old pictures newly discovered. Getting piles of work off my desk. Antibiotics and eye drops. Skip To My Lou.

http://www.cleanandscentsible.com/2011/01/valentine-hand-print-canvas.html
St Patrick’s Day. The Household Organization Diet. Valentine’s Day Handprint Art. January 20, 2011. There is always something about my children’s hand prints that captures my heart. If they can’t stay little forever at least I can preserve their cute little hands. So…I came up with this Valentine’s Day handprint art canvas to remind my favorite little Valentines that they will always have my heart! Sometimes it is the simplest of projects that ends up being our favorite. A canvas {mine is 12×16 }. Using ...

Chocolate-Drizzled Strawberries and Cream Pie - Our Best Bites
http://ourbestbites.com/2011/04/chocolate-drizzled-strawberries-and-cream-pie
We're so glad you're here! Learn more about us here. Chocolate-Drizzled Strawberries and Cream Pie. Every spring, I go on and on about strawberries. I think I get so excited because they’re so beautiful and cheap and, like the first really great watermelon in summer or the first sweet, crisp apple in the fall, or juicy orange in the winter, sweet, fat strawberries are one of the first signs of spring. I realized recently that we don’t have a strawberry pie recipe on our blog. Problem is, as. Place the wh...
