The Scene of Screen 13. The Herschell Gordon Lewis Studio of Dramatic Arts? I Don’t Make This Stuff Up! I wonder if this is THE HG Lewis. Either way, this is quite a find. If it was, then this would make him 23 at the time as the ad was from 3-6-50. This is an amusing ad if it was or not, and might be a small chapter in the Blood Feast Director’s Pre-Prime Time life. I hope to get more information later on. The ad was from Coatsville, PA. By screen13 on June 4, 2015. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. 1971 Tole...

The Scene of Screen 13. HG Lewis – A Grindhouse and Gore-House Time-Trip in Ads, Part One – Blood Feast. Until the very end is something that crept in America’s B-level movie scene, and then the world’s in quick time. After a showing in a Peoria, IL Drive In, it hit Chicago August, 1963 – the ad from 8-9-63. If you have not seen Scum of the Earth, Lewis’ cool Roughie about an Underground photo ring that some pretty woman gets caught up in, here’s the famous speech that still rings true today. 10-9-64 see...
