The Reluctant Oyster Farmer: Edible Delights & Rare Sights

http://www.reluctantoysterfarmer.blogspot.com/2008/12/edible-delights-rare-sights.html

The Reluctant Oyster Farmer. Thursday, December 11, 2008. Edible Delights and Rare Sights. As it is the month of December and slurping down small perfect raw oysters is part of the Christmas season celebration here on the West Coast, I thought I should comment on all the good wrapped around eating oysters. This is something we would never see in the city and it was truly spectacular. Waves of coloured light in the black velvet sky rising and receding over the silouetted island. We finished the oy...

The Reluctant Oyster Farmer: A fifties moment.

http://www.reluctantoysterfarmer.blogspot.com/2008/11/fifties-moment.html

The Reluctant Oyster Farmer. Sunday, November 2, 2008. It is surely true that people in mid-life do seemingly crazy things. Deciding to purchase an oyster farm was such a mid-life moment. The oyster farm officially became ours that December and ever since my first work experience out on the stinky, slippery oyster growing rafts I have had a love/hate relationship with the thousands of Pacific oysters that are now mine. More when I return smelling of oyster muck and glad to be back to creature comforts.

December 26, 2016. I don’t know if I’m going to continue the reluctant parent because I don’t really seem to get much feedback on anything but then I think I can understand why actually. If I really didn’t know me, I probably wouldn’t want to read about the life I write about either. Christmas is over and the wife is cranky and is struggling every year, as she apparently has for many years in the past, even before the little ones came along, as to whether she wants to do Christmas the next year. I though...
