Reporting from Asia: A date at McDonald's??

http://reportingfromasia.blogspot.com/2008/06/date-at-mcdonalds.html

Learning, living, experiencing another culture, all on my own. Monday, June 2, 2008. A date at McDonald's? Couples snuggled up in red booths. Some laughed while feeding each other french fries and chicken nuggets. My local friends told me the best place for a date in Beijing is none other than McDonald's. My sister Grace, Adelaide and I ordered chocolate shakes and french fries to observe Beijing's dating culture. The reasons for McDonald's popularity? Jessica E. Davis. June 3, 2008 at 1:38 AM. Reporting from Asia: The dreams are strange in Shangri la

http://reportingfromasia.blogspot.com/2008/06/dreams-are-strange-in-shangri-la.html

Learning, living, experiencing another culture, all on my own. Sunday, June 1, 2008. The dreams are strange in Shangri la. Maybe the lack of oxygen, sleep or heat were the reason. I can't explain why. My dreams were strange in Shangri la. Images of Tibetan gods haunted my sleep, which seemed more like a trance. I only remembered glimpses of the dream the next day. Tibetan Buddhism was different than the serene images of Buddha I had become familiar with in the rest of China. The next morning over breakfa...

Reporting from Asia: Surviving the Beijing subway

http://reportingfromasia.blogspot.com/2008/06/surviving-beijing-subway.html

Learning, living, experiencing another culture, all on my own. Thursday, June 5, 2008. Surviving the Beijing subway. His legs twitched in anticipation. His entire body began to sway on the loading platform of the Beijing subway. Behind this man stood an entire crowd of Chinese people waiting impatiently for the doors of the train to open. Communism never seemed further away as I stare at hundreds of businessmen and women jammed onto the platform. An alarm sounded, the crowd tensed and the doors opened.

widelense: Moving into City Heights--San Diego's Only Video Blog

http://reportingfromsandiego.blogspot.com/2008/11/moving-into-city-heights.html

A video blog telling San Diego's stories, one person at a time. Sunday, November 2, 2008. Moving into City Heights. You know you are in City Heights when the street noise is a mingle of police cars, revving engines, mariachi music and voices in Spanish. I have this idealistic frame of mind that moving to an area dominated by minorities would help me mature as a journalist. If I survived Asia for five months. I could probably survive City Heights. Right? It's unlocked, come on inside," she yelled. Barbara...

The Duke Tango Blog. Sports news, notes and musings. Tuesday, April 28, 2009. This past weekend was the Dallas Cowboys' last opportunity to address some personnel issues before heading into offseason camps. Here are my thoughts on how well (and in some cases, how poorly) I think the Cowboys did in picking up personnel on draft weekend. 3rd round, 69th pick: Jason Williams, LB, Western Illinois - conflicting. And here), I'll be an advocate of drafting for the secondary. Smith can help out in nickel an...

Recently, a friend was looking online to scoop up some tickets to an alpine skiing event for the February Olympic games in Vancouver. But where do you start looking? Hmm.
