The sporadic ramblings of someone who enjoys playing Magic the Gathering, eating good and bad food and exploring what it means to be a Christian in my communities. Some Idle Thoughts On Osma’s End. Next Post →. Monday, May 21, 2012. So I’m posting this so there is more than zero data on the web about them :). I’m not sure why I haven’t made it back there yet. I probably will later this week (hence why I was looking for details online). PS: Hrm, it’s been over a year has it? Next Post →. For instance I wa...

The sporadic ramblings of someone who enjoys playing Magic the Gathering, eating good and bad food and exploring what it means to be a Christian in my communities. This Blog is Dead. Long Live This Blog! Tuesday, September 4, 2012. Several of weeks ago my girlfriend (not likely to avoid opportunities to slip that phrase in for a little while yet, sorry) brought a coupon from one of those coupon web sites for a cheap meal at San Marco in Coburg. A couple of weeks ago we got around to making use of it.

Angry and Shallow: April 2007
http://angryandshallow.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 30, 2007. It would leave you feeling mad and wanting justice. Well God is the same. He cannot let it go unpunished". Very logical and VERY WRONG! This is actually more common than we think, particularly among no westernised cultures. Jesus himself did this on an umber of occasions including the woman caught in adultery and Zachaeus the tax collector. I believe this wrong belief that God must. He is nothing like us.lets remember that as we try to be more like Him. Tuesday, April 24, 2007.

Angry and Shallow: October 2006
http://angryandshallow.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 31, 2006. The death of the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, made world headlines. He died tragically from a Stingray barb leaving his family, and seemingly heaps of adoring fans, devastated. As is so often the case in these situations we Christians managed to make it worse and show how shallow we have become! Why do we constantly need the validation from the rich and the famous? Why does this make us feel better about ourselves? I've got more to say on this at a later stage. A lot of peopl...

Angry and Shallow: January 2007
http://angryandshallow.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 26, 2007. I've been unable to get into my site for a week or so hence the delay since my last post. There has been some good news however. The night shelter in Wellington has had a million dollar upgrade so the homeless now get top quality accomodation. Fantastic! I ran a boys home for a number of years and we had a number of times when well meaning christian people would bring around broken cups, plates that were chipped, broken chairs etc and said we should use them.and be grateful!

Angry and Shallow: February 2007
http://angryandshallow.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 20, 2007. I think they showed that mercy and forgiveness does not have to come only after punishment but can come instead of punishment. The Hindu have a proverb that goes something like this "Its an amazing moment when you let the prisoner free only to find you were the prisoner". I struggle with this.I want to be like them but its not easy.of course they never said it was easy for themselves! The struggle is all part of trying to follow Jesus. Thursday, February 01, 2007. Angry and Shallow: May 2007
http://angryandshallow.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 10, 2007. Is strong in us. It's wrong for the gang to want and take revenge against the other gang but its ok. For those in power to do so! Those in power use this to raise their profile and stick it to the opposition. From this it is easy to see how we project this onto God and the cross. So if God is not with the powerful and vengeful in this case where is He? I'm not sure but I think its with the hurting, grieving family of the little girl who at her tangi. Josh, Mel and random others. An overview of life within our little community. Sunday, February 25, 2007. Some Questons About Compromise. Recently Mel and I watched the movie "The Wind that Shakes the Barley." (I am going to tell the crux of the story and appolgise for those who may not have seen it! And refused to the point of death. A) Should we advertise Jesus as a product to be pursued for what He can do for us? B) Can we tap into the idol of consumerism to "sell" Jesus? My fear is that in using the a...
