Things I have to say about things…. Too many emails, not enough work. All of us get emails daily. If you are managers, you probably get more than others. So when is it too much? I work as a Web team leader and Lately I have felt like I am spending most of my time reading and writing emails than actually working. So, I examined my inbox a bit and discovered I am getting between 150 to 300 emails each day. My conclusion is simple – All of us need to reduce our emails sending! Some emails require context...

Why do today what you can do tomorrow? (Procrastination) | My Personal Angle
http://www.mypersonalangle.com/procrastination
Things I have to say about things…. Why do today what you can do tomorrow? Never put off until tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow. Mark Twain. 8211; “…the act of replacing high-priority actions with tasks of lower priority, or doing something from which one derives enjoyment, and thus putting off important tasks to a later time.”. Yep, almost all of us do it from time to time. This of course leads to a feeling of dissatisfaction. “why can’t I get it done? So… why does it happen? Same as in a...

Out of the way, let’s consider the challenge of setting up an effective DevOps team. I’ll try to present this as a series of questions, which in order hopefully comprise a good overview of the process. I certainly can’t cover everything in s single post, so let’s start with the basics:. Do I even need a DevOps team? Not necessarily. What you. Another fair...

Tomer Gabel's annoying spot on the 'net. Monday, June 06, 2011. Back on the Wagon. Sometimes you know it’s time to move on. I’ve been working at Sears (née Delver. For just under four years, making this the longest stretch in my career. Even so, my tenure at Delver has seen several major upheavals, including a name change (we originally started off as Semingo. Product strategy shifts (Delver started out as a people search engine, similar to what pipl.com. Are doing today), launching. Suffice to say that ...

For context and additional information. As mentioned in part 1, Scala is not binary backwards-compatible between major releases. Although code compiled with 2.10. Sunday, April 10, 2011. At the beginning I started writing one post about biology. My husband Ron. Who has a technical blog of his own, suggested the idea and at first I was skeptical. I thought – “what do I have to write about”? I’ll be happy to hear lessons that you learned from your own experience as well. April 10, 2011 at 12:41 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). LabMeme: Why you should enjoy the little things in life
http://www.labmeme.com/2012/03/why-you-should-enjoy-little-things-in.html
Saturday, March 10, 2012. Why you should enjoy the little things in life. When I tell random people and relatives about what I do it always sounds more glamorous then what it really is. Let’s face it, most of what we do is cleaning stuff from other stuff while filling a ridicules amount of paper work. Yet, I love my work and I think that the main reason I get up in the morning singing “ let’s go to the lab… today. 8221; is my ability to find joy in the little things. March 11, 2012 at 3:32 AM. Friday, January 6, 2012. To stay or not to stay – The hard choices we sometimes have to make. A friend of mine, M. Sc student in my faculty, approached me, all secretive. Sitting in the improvised porch he told me that he isn’t getting along with his supervisor and thinking about changing labs. The reason my friend was so discreet about our talk is this: his problem does not officially exist. Don’t let the bad place you are in right now, suffocate the passion you have for science. Well, since in my case ...
