Melbourne | On the Road to Emmaus...

https://roadtoemmaushomeschool.wordpress.com/2011/10/31/melbourne

On the Road to Emmaus…. The story of an American family in New Zealand. October 31, 2011. They dont’ stay tight, and honestly, if I was in a crash, I would rather her be in the mei tai. It is infinitely more secure than that dumb seatbelt! Keep in mind that we were supposed to arrive at the airport before The Doc, his dad and sister, and were supposed to get our bags and then go wait at their gate for them to arrive. At this point we would be arriving about an hour and a half AFTER them. Ug. Since my wed...

On the Road to Emmaus…. The story of an American family in New Zealand. June 26, 2011. Icky Illnesses, Ash Clouds, and Bunny Rabbits. Wow, what a busy few weeks we’ve had! Came down with the flu, too. He ended up staying home on Thursday and sleeping most of the day, and we just prayed that he would feel well enough on Friday to fly up to Auckland and make the 6 hour drive back to Wanganui with his family. Get an extra day to recover, and he really needed it. Then, a miracle occured! I’ve always ca...

On the Road to Emmaus…. The story of an American family in New Zealand. July 19, 2011. We had such a busy and fun time with my mother in law (MIL), father in law (FIL) and sister in law (SIL) the past three weeks! We did so many things that I had to go back and look through my pictures to try to remember what order we did things in! But they are just beautiful! We passed by some spectacular views of snow-topped Taranaki on the way there. And note how GREEN this place is, even in mid-winter! I think this ...

He writes about his trip with his father and sister to Uluru. Laquo; Tackling the Giant -or- How we almost became statistics. On the Road to Emmaus…. The story of an American family in New Zealand. July 29, 2011. Tackling the Giant -or- How we almost became statistics. The second Sunday our family was here, we drove up River Road with the intention of seeing Ruapehu and maybe hiking one of the trails on it up to a waterfall. We went to church first thing that morning, came home and grabbed lunch, and then got on the road. The Doc’s driving was making everyone carsick, so they. We got closer and closer to the waterfall, but it w...

Pathways Academy: Lazy Saturdays

http://lovingourgirlies.blogspot.com/2011/11/lazy-saturdays.html

Pathways Academy: Teaching tiny hearts by traveling the road less taken. Saturday, November 12, 2011. This is the second Saturday in a row that we don't have any plans. Let me just say this is something I could get used to. No getting up early and rushing around to make it to a 9am soccer game or other event. No wondering how in the world I am going to keep my sanity with our crazy schedule for the day. We need days like these. So, today we will rest. We might stay in our pajamas. Confessions of a Pionee...

Pathways Academy: Teaching tiny hearts by traveling the road less taken. Thursday, May 3, 2012. Doctor ordered pool time. I have somehow injured my back. I have no idea how, but am having severe muscle spasms which is causing nerve compression leading to back and leg pain. I finally gave in and saw a doctor yesterday. He gave me some medications, ordered rest and physical therapy and encouraged me to spend some time in a swimming pool. Swim noodles are so versatile.they each made their own boats! Holy Sp...

Pathways Academy: October 2010

http://lovingourgirlies.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Pathways Academy: Teaching tiny hearts by traveling the road less taken. Tuesday, October 26, 2010. As if it isn't obvious enough.now I have even more proof that my babies are growing up. Shaylie had her very first visit from the Tooth Fairy (AKA Twinkle- in our house) last night. I can NOT even begin to fathom that she is old enough to be losing teeth already. I mean seriously wasn't it just like last month when cut her first tooth? Just another reminder that I need to. CHERISH. EVERY. MOMENT. Because g...

Pathways Academy: Teaching tiny hearts by traveling the road less taken. Saturday, November 6, 2010. Religion is one topic that my husband and I do not see eye to eye on. I am very much a Christian and he loves all faiths (including mine). He respects my decision to follow one particular faith and I respect his decision to be a spiritual nomad of sorts. In an attempt to increase the knowledge of different faiths, my husband has started Project Conversion. Learn more about it here. To summarize, beginning...

A journey back to the basics with a modern day Montana hippy. Quick and Easy Chicken and Dumplings →. Love, Twue Love. March 21, 2011. Let me tell you something about love. Pathways Academy: Teaching tiny hearts by traveling the road less taken. Monday, February 28, 2011. Meal Plan Monday 2/28/11. I am a definite advocate of making a weekly meal plan. It saves money and saves a lot of headache. Some weeks I forget or think I just don't have time to sit down and come up with a meal plan. On those weeks, my husband and I have the same conversation each night. It goes something like this:. Me: "What do you want for dinner? Him: "I don't know what do you want? Sunday- Lunch out...

The Road To Emmaus

The Road To Emmaus. Enriching our Experience of the Mass. Our Hearts Burn Within Us. Kids On The Road. Friday, August 19, 2011. We opened with prayer and began by reviewing a couple of the ideas from the last week. Then we moved on to talk about the epiclesis. This word is from the Greek, meaning "to call upon". At this time the priest calls upon the Holy Spirit, and asks God to come over the gifts and bless them. It becomes clear that the Mass is not a human thing, but a work of God. The Lamb's Supper- ...

How to join in the discussion. Why Road to Emmaus? Tuesday, 23 December 2014. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.". This headline caught my eye on the editorial page this morning: “This is the year we choose death over indignity.”. My father died this June and his last days on earth were filled with pain and the desire to die that Job expressed. His last 48 hours in particular stripped any dignity from him that he had left.
