My friend, Matt, and I decided to go on a quest for pumpkins to have our own pumpkin carving party. It took all day to find them, but in the end, it was worth it. Our pumpkins look so cute. Follow along as I begin a year of teaching in South Korea. Tuesday, June 8, 2010. In honor of Buddha's birthday, Seoul hosted a lantern festival on May 16. I have never seen such elaborate lanterns. They were beautiful. The day started with booths demonstrating different art forms, or sampling temple food, then the big hoorah. The overhang was a Korean flag made of lanterns.
