Carla's Swank Tank: February 2015
http://carlasswanktank.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 1, 2015. A one-way mirror to my soul. This January was really fun, because I got to kick off the year with working on my helmet design for Nutcase Helmets'. I started out on the work. After transferring my drawings to linoleum, I carved them out. I then mixed some inks, brayered them out, and inked up my linoleum to get it ready to print. The most exciting part of my process is when I get to see how the print turned out! Photo credit: Toby Orzano). EXACTLY. In the end, we decided to ...

http://carlasswanktank.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 16, 2014. In the spring, tender grasses won't burn easily. Spring is truly here in Portland! This month marks my six-month mark here. and it sounds cheesy and trite to say, but things just keep getting better. Perhaps it's the excitement of spring. Perhaps it's the fact that everything is in bloom. Either way, here's how my finished spring mailer came out. It's hot off of the presses! This month my art is up at Zuzu Salon. Links to this post. I've neglected this blog in favor of microblogging; my instagram. And facebook illustrator page. But, here's a short recap for you;. It's also available on my etsy. My firs...

Carla's Swank Tank: October 2014
http://carlasswanktank.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2014. I'd just set the course North and I'd study the charts and towards dawn I drifted towards sleep. We also went way up (6000 feet! To Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood. I was very excited to be involved with Design Week Portland. I was part of the mixed media show at Grand Central Bowl, where artists are given a bowling pin and encouraged to "go crazy" with mixed media! I had the great opportunity to create a poster for the local band, Pediment. From here, I get to move on to creati...

Friday, December 27, 2013. She's a never-ending story. 2013 has passed us by, and here we are looking at a new change, a new beginning. It has been a busy month for me! Moving to Portland changed my winters, as I've seen maybe an inch of snow since I've gotten here. To cope with the change, I'm drawing snow quite a bit! I drew this up for the winter solstice, and just printed some for my etsy. I'm not very well-versed (get it? On poetry, but I really love this one. On this tour poster. It makes me want t...
