This position allows the individual or individuals to take control and plan and care for our Native Edible Plant Garden. Not all plants are edible. These volunteers would recommend gardening techniques, specific plants species and lead education tours while also doing some of the hard work that gardening can be! But it’s also super fulfilling and there are a few grants out there that we’d like to give it a go at if you’d like to help out! You’ll be setting your own hours. About 3 or less hour commitment.

To see the cooperative come together, we need community involvement. That could mean you volunteer for particular activities, or you attend meetings regularly, or maybe you donate items that’ll help the co-op! We always wish for your physical support at meetings, potlucks and work days. But if you can’t come you can always help us acquire the items we need to reach our community, and supply you with good, local, organic foods! Camas Food Cooperatives Wish List:. For the native, edible educational garden.

All POW asked of Michelle was that she completed this sentence: “I will use $1,000 to fight climate change by doing: ”. She completed the sentence with, “starting a co-op with an educational garden in a little community I grew up in called Camas, Wa.” It would be a week before she learned from POW if she won the Earth Day Grant.
