Thoughts on my life today. Wednesday, June 30, 2010. The Gurnsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. By Mary Ann Shaffer. My rating: 5 of 5 stars. This is the best book I have read all year. It had me laughing, crying and holding my breath to see what happened. I fell in love with the characters just like Juliet did. I would recommend this to everyone. Sunday, June 20, 2010. Day 161 - Quilt Detail. A detail from "Pat's Quilt" by Rebecca Musgrave. In Et...

Amy told me she looks forward to my "picture of the day" so today I am honoring her. Thank you Amy! This photo was taken at the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Colorado annual picnic. On the death of Deborah Gardner, the PCV in Tonga (South Pacific) who was killed by another PCV back in the mid-70s. The show relied heavily on the book, American Taboo: A Murder in the Peace Corps.
