The workshop will be divided into three main topics covering three aspects of performance:. In the near future, railways will be expected to face a challenging growth of transport demand and to answer the objective of a significant modal shift from road to rail which is highly wished for in Europe for example, to overcome the problems of road congestion and environmental harm. But modal shift to rail will come true only if we will be able to attract it. Design solutions for resilient infrastructure.
