This Run's for You, Cassy: February 2009

http://runningforcassy.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

This Run's for You, Cassy. Saturday, February 28, 2009. Hey, I just checked out the Toledo Roadrunner's results for the Get Luckey 5K. That Tammy and I ran two weeks ago and I DID get a PR by a second! Yep, that's right, I said one, 1, uno, second! Hey, a PR's a PR. My lungs were on fire and my heart about to burst at the end of that first mile so, I'll take it! Monday, February 23, 2009. Sunday, February 15, 2009. Oops Second mile split was 8:38 or something like that. I picked up in my last mile, c...

This Run's for You, Cassy: Get Luckey 5K

http://runningforcassy.blogspot.com/2009/02/get-luckey-5k.html

This Run's for You, Cassy. Sunday, February 15, 2009. It was about 30 degrees with light falling snow and light winds when the race started. Tammy was off first. Three minutes later, I was off. I went out entirely too fast with the crowd of very fast men and my first mile split was 7:36. I didn't even know I could run a seven and a half minute mile! She had an awesome race and looked really good in the final leg as I approached her. I am so proud of her! Love you, Dad. Sun Feb 15, 08:26:00 PM EST. Thanks...

This Run's for You, Cassy: Glass City Marathon Race Report

http://runningforcassy.blogspot.com/2008/04/glass-city-marathon-race-report.html

This Run's for You, Cassy. Monday, April 14, 2008. Glass City Marathon Race Report. It is customary on RunningAHEAD. That inspired me to set a marathon goal, train for, and complete it. Tammy and my "shoe lady", Liz, from Dave's Running Shop, who has been just wonderful in working with us on getting proper shoes, was also at the expo manning a table for the shop and would be running the second half of the marathon on race day as part of a two-person team. Eric and I planned on meeting in the lobby of the...

The Journey

http://distance-runner.blogspot.com/2009/12/rocket-city-marathon-12-december-2009.html

Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Rocket City Marathon 12 December 2009. I arrived in Huntsville on Friday around noon and just kind of hung out until late afternoon. I went over to the expo to get a couple of things and my packet. Bart Yasso was the guest speaker at the carbo dinner that night- what a great guy and speaker. I really enjoyed his speech and am enjoying his book. I ended up with a time of 4:11:11 so I didn’t hit the 3:50 I wanted but those are just numbers. Looking back- this whole trainin...

The Journey: April 2006

http://distance-runner.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 24, 2006. Recap of week beginning 04-17-06:. The week started off pretty good but ended up with a very busy weekend and no runs. It was a drop back week (of sorts) so I wasn't real worried about getting anything over 10-12 miles in over the weekend, but with the timing of all of the plans for the weekend I didn't get any in. Mon, 04-17: No run. Tues, 04-18: 3 miles. Wed, 04-19: 5 miles. Thurs, 04-20: 5 miles. Fri, 04-21: 6.1 miles (2 mile warm up, 5K race, 1 mile cool down). I shouted back ...

The Journey: October 2006

http://distance-runner.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 30, 2006. Another good week on the base building and enjoying running. I was surprised at how well my 10 miler went on Sunday. No stops at all- just smooth, easy run. The temptation was there to add a couple more miles because it was feeling so good but I decided to stop with the planned 10 miles and end on a positive note to take in to my next week of running. Mon- 10-23: No run. Tues- 10-24: 3 miles. Wed- 10-25: 5 miles. Thurs- 10-26: 5 miles. Fri- 10-27: rest day. Sat- 10-28: 5 miles.

The Journey: March 2006

http://distance-runner.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 27, 2006. Due to an overall lack of training, I decided I was going to make this a training run or slightly faster depending on how I felt. I decided that my overall goal would be 1:45. We left for Knoxville mid day on Friday and it took forever to get there. Should have been about a 4 hour drive, but with traffic and a slow restaurant, it took just over 6 hours. We found our hotel and headed to dinner and a relaxing night. The race started and we immediately started up a hill. I though...

Wednesday, February 22, 2006. Woke up this morning to get out for a short run and temp was 100.2 so I skipped my run. I think I have to refigure things as far as my program and race. Tuesday, January 31, 2006. I had 6 miles on the docket for Monday, 01-30, but my legs were dead and I decided to take a rest day. Training is going too good right now t0 push it like that in week 3. If I am in week 10 or 12 and my endurance is better, maybe I would have gone ahead and run and just made it a slow 6 miles. I am pleased and feel good about this work out. It definitely gives me hope that I am on the path back. Pm- Upper body weights. Posted by Alan @ 7:57 AM. Monday, January 30, 2006. Friday...

Running for Cannolis | Searching for cannolis in Seattle

Searching for cannolis in Seattle. Lake Union 10k Race Report. August 12, 2015. On Sunday Hannah and I ran the Lake Union 10k. She picked this race because Portage Bay Cafe was serving breakfast after, and we both love their breakfast. We arrived at 6:45 and got free street parking. We picked up our bibs, and shirts. They only had 1 womans medium left. They were running small and many people had sized up, they should have t-shirt exchanges after the race. It was a great race, one I would probably do again.
