Just another WordPress.com weblog. Working (on) the weekend. October 18, 2009. Today was the last 10 miles run. I have been looking forward to this run. My dad was going to drive in and run with the team since he is going to be running 6 of the last 10 with me on 11/1. Well, at 6pm on Friday the plans changed and i couldn’t go on the 10 mile run with the group. Total bummer! The taper is mentally challenging enough I can’t be missing runs! On a positive note.the team has raised over $211K!

Just another WordPress.com weblog. You either have it… →. A GU will have to do…. August 25, 2009. The gang at the metlife building! Note to self: do not go on a 11 mile run on an empty stomach. the thought of a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich from nyack bagels could not leave my mind — and, i can’t even eat bagels! That looked like horse troughs and volunteers trying to get rid of different chachkies (no,thanks. i’m running.). all in all, the run was amazing! Yesterday i did a short run (3 miles) to get m...

Running for Marge: On
http://runningformarge.blogspot.com/2010/08/on.html
Because Alzheimer's sucks and running doesn't. Saturday, August 21, 2010. It's the end of another week of training. And I'm tired. Tuesday after work I met up with my teammates in Central Park for hill repeats. Don't know what that is? It is pretty much like what it sounds like.run up a hill almost as fast as you can, then do it again. We followed that with finishing off about four miles. Then Gatorade! Oh sweet clear liquid! Just another WordPress.com weblog. Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t. Told you →. September 22, 2009. Last week Chuck and I were on vacation in Ireland with his family. This time I really did run on vacation – probably because I wasn’t the only one who had to do it! I got in three (somewhat hilly) one hour jogs at a moderate pace. I have no clue how far I ran, but I don’t think that matters so much. It was really beautiful terrain and. Made running a bit more enjoyable. Told you →. Enter...

Because Alzheimer's sucks and running doesn't. Tuesday, October 04, 2011. Life Gets in the Way. Today I am feeling a bit sore. But I didn't sleep well (baby and cat, of course) and I have NOT been eating well. Tonight I will head to Whole Foods to pick up a few items. I have a few recipes to prepare over the next few days that actually include.what are they called? Vegetables. Yeah, vegetables. This week's goal: 10-13 miles. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Just another WordPress.com weblog. Notes from a plodder. Now that’s a fun run →. October 27, 2009. The Marathon is only 4 days, 20 hours and 32 minutes away. Oh, the time has gone by so fast. I can’t believe we’re here. This week we’re just resting and drinking lots of water and eating LOTS of pasta something new every night! I’m really scared. Everyone is being so nice and telling me that it’ll be fun, just one big party. But 26 miles is an insane distance! Can I handle it? Notes from a plodder. You are...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. In the dark →. That was good, but it hurt. September 29, 2009. We woke up Sunday morning at 5:54 to the sound of pouring rain. This was the dreaded day the 18 mile Marathon tune up in Central Park. As if three laps of the loop wasn’t torture enough, we now had to do it in miserable, freezing rain. We did not take any walk breaks at all for the first 13 miles. I did a whole half marathon without stopping. I’m pretty happy. And then.the Wall! Chuck took me inside and head...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. T-minus… →. Notes from a plodder. October 23, 2009. Early this morning I received an email alerting me to this article. In today’s New York Times. Training for a marathon is hard work, no matter who you are. It’s time consuming, it’s exhausting, it’s depleting. But the hardest part is convincing yourself that you can do it. Believing that you have the strength to get through 26.2 miles in the name of something bigger. I literally started from zero. On day one. That̵...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. October 13, 2009. I decided that I had to do the 20-miler. I felt that I didn’t deserve to taper if I didn’t. But Saturday and Sunday were pretty busy this weekend so I decided to do it Monday morning (since I had Monday off for Columbus Day). When Monday morning finally rolled around, I wasn’t feeling it. But I went anyway, because I had promised myself. The following is a list of reasons why it totally sucked:. 6 I didn’t finish. I HATE NOT FINISHING. So I stopped in ...

Running for Marge: Head for the Hills
http://runningformarge.blogspot.com/2011/09/head-for-hills.html
Because Alzheimer's sucks and running doesn't. Thursday, September 22, 2011. Head for the Hills. So tonight I decided to Head for the Hills. Basically, hill repeat workouts are as follows: find a hill and run up it, then do it again and again. My town is fairly hilly and my long runs in the past have inevitable included hills. But I have avoided hill repeats because, well, they are HARD. The last time I remember doing hill repeats was with the R2R team last August. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
