There is a lot to organizing and directing a race but I had several great volunteers to help me make it happen. Through sponsors, registrations, and donations, we were able to raise over $2,500 for the food pantry this year. This is about $500 more than last year! Links to this post. Journey to My First Marathon.and beyond. My adventures, thoughts, experiences, and ramblings on running and training. Wednesday, May 15, 2013. After taking a good month or so off from running (and gaining about 20 lbs.) I think I am back. The foot isn't perfect, but it is a whole lot better than where I was. I am measuring and monitoring my run distance by time and pace by heart rate. It's a significantly slower pace than what I would typically run, but I am trying to do this right. Links to this post.

Journey to My First Marathon.and beyond. My adventures, thoughts, experiences, and ramblings on running and training. Friday, March 15, 2013. If you have been a runner for a long time you have most likely encountered a lot of joy and some pain. Today I took advantage of the awesome 75 degree weather and tested my foot out on the trails. Journey to My First Marathon.and beyond. My adventures, thoughts, experiences, and ramblings on running and training. Tuesday, November 19, 2013. I managed to work in a nice little run around the pasture today. I try not to get too close to the cows because they are very protective of their calves. Chasing the Black Line to Ironman: Injuries
http://gashsam-chasingtheblacklinetoironman.blogspot.com/p/injuries.html
Chasing the Black Line to Ironman. Sooooo, I have a collected a list of injuries over the years. Probably 5 pages worth lol. But here are the popular ones. I have rolled my right ankle x 3 times. This means that my right ankle is more flexible than my left. So I have to stretch the left calf so much more. The ever favourite.illiotibial band, I.T. B. Started on the right side, rolled and physio and eventually a cortisone shot. Then once the right was sorted, the left. Hopefully alleviate the problem.
