make happy: banana pecan breakfast bread
http://make-happy.blogspot.com/2010/07/banana-pecan-breakfast-bread.html
Banana pecan breakfast bread. I was browsing Summer Harms' blog. Last week, and came across her recipe for banana bread made with sour cream. It sounded really good. It's full of fruit, whole wheat, and heart-healthy nuts. It does have a little sugar, but even that you could replace with honey, agave, apple juice concentrate. But really, since the rest of the ingredients are so good, I'm OK with a little sugar. I'm so OK with it that I went ahead and slathered a slice with butter. Mmmm. Add dry ingredien...

Memories in the Baking: A Tuscan Birthday Fare
http://memoriesinthebaking.blogspot.com/2010/12/tuscan-birthday-fare.html
A Tuscan Birthday Fare. Thumper's birthday was weeks ago, but I had to share with you this milestone. Although, the boy turned 12, he's almost taller than me. And no longer shops for clothes in the boy's department. Fact is, he's been recently spotted wearing "man pants.". So, I was not too surprised when my suggestions for his birthday cake— a Star Wars theme, or perhaps, a Little Big Planet's Sackboy cake—were crushed. Comes up for air). Cake was garnished with fresh. Incidentally, in case you were won...

Ruská a východo-európska kuchyňa ktorú Vám prináša matka s dcérou. Navrat na hlavnú stránku. Dec 15, 2009. Life is Short. Enjoy Yourself. My Slovak grandmother, Pauline, received a handwritten book of recipes for her 16th birthday in 1929 from her best friend in Pivnica, Vojvodina. Her friend worked for a wealthy family as a baker in Novi Sad, and I suspect, based on the recipes, that she either worked at Café Gerbeaud, a 150 year old famous bakery in Budapest, or worked with someone who did. Pauline’s recipes were written with metric measurements. Here is a helpful measurement converter:. Before the bakery w...

Low GI Cooking & Lifestyle choice: My Schedule
http://low-gi-cooking.blogspot.com/2011/02/my-schedule.html
Low GI Cooking and Lifestyle choice. Monday, February 21, 2011. I wake up at 7:30 or 8:00 am every day. Have ½ litter of room temperature water on empty stomach, while sitting on the bed. Do not rush to get out of bed too quickly – let blood flow slowly after awakening. Sit-down on the side of the bed and count till 20 - since it takes 9 seconds for blood flow to come back to normal after sleep. And never drink cold water – even during the day. Brief walk after and before lunch. 11:00 I am normally in be...
