Wednesday, 14 September 2011. General Sir John Monash. John Monash was born in1865 in Western Victoria Australia , and died in1931 in Lona Victoria Australia. He is on the back of the one hundred dollar note. He had lots of occupations.These are some of them. He was a proficient citizen-soldier before 1914,and a highly successful engineer in civil life. Also, he commanded the 4th brigade at Gallipoli and was promoted to major general in June 1916 and given. Command of the 3th division.
