MB's Adventures: March 2011
http://mbsadventures.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 26, 2011. To talk or not to talk, which is the victory? For those of you who don't know me, the "suffering" I would be talking about was the loss of my son, Tai, fourteen years before, and some pretty difficult associated fallout, involving my grieving husband turning to cocaine, and my daughter and I eventually having to literally sneak out the back door one day to get away while he was sleeping.]. Good, sensible decision. Whew. Glad that's settled. No problem. Except....And some vict...

MB's Adventures: January 2009

Friday, January 23, 2009. Mbale Sundays with Mzungu Mama - Part One. 1 .on being punctual . After eight months here, I have a fairly good idea of the difference between African time and Westerner time. It's simple: To maintain your Mzungu sanity, just plan on arriving everywhere at least a half hour. 160;So while we were waiting for other people to show up - specifically the Bible study teacher - we got out my camera and took a couple photographs of ourselves in our Sunday best. . MB's Adventures: March 2009
http://mbsadventures.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 14, 2009. Pretty sure" is the answer. Now what was the question? Before I tell you, please take a look at some photos taken a few Sundays ago. Phillip and James praying for a new brother and sister in Christ. Gathering at the river. Now the sister are buried in baptism. A final prayer of thanksgiving and blessing. Not given by me; I was just privileged to be standing near the sister.). But I did get to hug her right after the prayer! Are you sure that you are up for it? On a happier note,...

Forever 25: December 2013
http://forever25-becky.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 08, 2013. Icepocolypse 2013 - 3 Ways of Sledding. Our furnace stopped working in the middle of the night this morning. At 3am, I got up to do the only thing we get up at 3am to do, and I realized that I was FREEZING. If you know me at all, you know it takes a lot to make me cold! Way #1 - Recycle Box Lid. Way #2 - Recycle Box (pretty much a failure). Way #3 - Decorative Sled (plus GranDad). And Witten helped move the sand back into place when we were done. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

MB's Adventures: Sometimes it's hard to guess the ending
http://mbsadventures.blogspot.com/2010/09/sometimes-its-hard-to-guess-ending.html
Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Sometimes it's hard to guess the ending. The land dedication lasted until early Friday morning, and we all knew that God had had the victory that night. But the story isn't over yet. No, indeed. Today, Shadrack, the guard who works out at the land, came to meet with Phillip at the office. Shadrack had been plagued by a large snake - "Oh, very large, very, very large! No The snake decided to leave the just-dedicated land. It began to cross the road. Julie Reagan (teacher on Mba...

MB's Adventures: So I guess Dr. Don's to blame?
http://mbsadventures.blogspot.com/2009/10/so-i-guess-dr-dons-to-blame.html
Sunday, October 4, 2009. So I guess Dr. Don's to blame? I am office manager at Brown Pruitt Peterson and Wambsganss, and I am in Don Ferrill's office, waiting to ask a question. He ignores me to finish reading something on his computer, so I shamelessly peek over his shoulder to see what is so engrossing. Ah! It's a newsletter from Phillip Shero, giving the highlights of the recent University Advisors' Summit held in Mbale, Uganda. I sigh. "Oh, how exciting! December 2, 2009 at 8:14 AM. I was the office ...

Forever 25: Durango Day 7
http://forever25-becky.blogspot.com/2014/07/durango-day-7.html
Wednesday, July 09, 2014. There were quite a few people that were floating down the river while the kids and Mitch were playing. (I got in too, but I'm the one taking the pictures.) The water was FREEZING! I can't imagine rafting down in. Especially in a skimpy swim suit! Witten's trying to dry off before we go back to the car. When we were about to leave, we found this car that was buried in the side of the cliff. It has clearly been there for decades. The kids wanted to take a closer look. Simple templ...

Forever 25: June 2013
http://forever25-becky.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 15, 2013. Various conversations with Witten lately. Me: Is your pull-up poopy from bedtime? Me: What are the dogs doing? Witten: Maybe one is tired and one is not. Me: Do you want a waffle for breakfast? Witten: Maybe I do. Pretty much any answer to any of our questions begins with "Maybe". I wish I could think of some of the cuter ones, but you get the idea. Tuesday, June 11, 2013. Conversation with a 3 Year Old. Witten: Mommy, I want to pliers you shirt. Witten: I'm trying to make it red.

Saturday, June 21, 2014. Road Trip Day 8 - The Grand Finale. I've been waiting all week for today. At some point, I found out that Rainforest Café had a sister restaurant called the T-Rex café. The only problem with it is that there are only TWO in the entire world! Luckily, one of them was on our road trip, so we stopped in for an early lunch as soon as they opened. In fact, we got there about an hour early to parooze the gift shop and let the kids each make a Build A Bear dinosaur. So. Cool! We're on o...
