Stories about life in Catalunya and beyond. When a cat moves abroad. August 7, 2015. October 15, 2015. Oh I am sorry! Yesterday flashed by and I didn’t write here. We got back from Portsmouth at 5am. Slept till about 11am and then drifted around in a woozy dream. About 8pm we decided to have another sleep and although I intended to get up again and write a post – I didn’t wake again until 6am this morning. However, I did take photos yesterday of Phoenix’ first day in Cornwall. She seeks out camouflage.

Life on a Catalan Mountain. Lec here, living ‘up a mountain’ at Los Corrales. It’s a finca, but just like most fincas it earns zero euros. So, much time is spent living rather frugally, but very happily here. There’s me and BigD, the humans, plus three dogs which are way too large, a cat who’s just way to here and a few hens just to keep us all fed. Luckily the huerto keeps us in good green stuff year round, and the orchard will one day keep us stocked up on fruit too… well maybe. 4 responses to “. Lovel...

Stories about life in Catalunya and beyond. 5 ways I have changed since moving to Catalunya. February 14, 2015. February 15, 2015. Have you ever dreamed of moving to a new country and leaving behind, not only your job, home and familiar life, but also your old personality? I know I am shy and retiring but perhaps there’s a wild cat inside? You want to escape the old you or at least the parts of you that are so tiresome and boring and repetitive and hard to change. I had noticed that Mediterranean people ...

Stories about life in Catalunya and beyond. Where are you going? September 12, 2015. I can’t let today slip by without mentioning that there have been some big developments recently. Not so much in my life which continues much as before as we work on the house and start to build a new life here in Cornwall. Today the people’s choice, Jeremy Corbyn was elected as Labour leader. A man has been arrested who was living slightly off the path that leads from Astorga to Santa Catalina. I feel such a strange...

High above Granollers - The Catalan Way
http://thecatalanway.co.uk/2010/07/up-high
Stories about life in Catalunya and beyond. July 5, 2010. November 28, 2014. I took a walk this evening up to the derelict tower that sits on a hill overlooking Granollers. The tower Torre de Pinos. Is an old fortified defense tower built in the 14th century and now half in ruins it is protected but not really cherished. But the place is magical. I took these photos on a sunny afternoon last week, walking along flower lined paths while trying to take photographs of the swifts. July 6, 2010 at 4:01 pm.

Up High - The Catalan Way

Stories about life in Catalunya and beyond. August 8, 2015. August 8, 2015. Remember what I said about the new cat in town getting perspective by going up high? We happened to pass St Buryan church when the tower was open to visitors. It’s a beautiful climb up the spiral staircase and then some amazing views from the roof. I remember that when I first arrived in Granollers I liked to climb up to the Torre to look out over the town. And beyond to the mountains. Thanks to Pep Mogas for the photos today).

Stories about life in Catalunya and beyond. Catching Up with you….and with myself. August 4, 2015. This is crazy – I want to write but it all feels too complicated to explain. And to get me started here is a photo diary of the last few weeks. Wild flowers in the little garden behind the cabin. My furniture arrives from Spain! Work st...
