http://cmfwood.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
A diary of a production. Friday, January 26, 2007. And working working working. Late every night this week. Great times. Now I'm up in Aberdeen in hideously expensive Starbucks courtesy of hideously expensive T-mobile, about to run and get the train back to Edinburgh. Great times. Still, having sat through a morning of lacklustre civil servants yesterday, I was reminded yet again of how lucky I am to do the job that I do. Posted by Claire at 1:53 pm. My top ten embarrassing moments. 6 Charmingly advancin...

http://cmfwood.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
A diary of a production. Thursday, September 28, 2006. These are the flyers. I can't decide which is my favourite. Posted by Claire at 6:49 pm. Uphill struggle is hardly the word. I used to think I was a tolerant and patient person but I seem to become a horrible monstrous harridan as soon as I step through the door of the rehearsal rooms. And everytime I set out with the best of intentions. I blame those foul tempered actors that drag the rest of the company down. Posted by Claire at 6:40 pm. It's been ...

http://cmfwood.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
A diary of a production. Monday, August 28, 2006. It occured to me recently that I'm rather losing sight of the original purpose of this blog with my rambling and fawning accounts of festival shows. However I shall permit myself one final foray into self-indulgence before returning to my original raison d'etre on this sad final day of the Fringe. I saw two shows at the weekend there. A fantastic performance from NoFitState Circus. Week to go. Goodness. Posted by Claire at 12:00 pm. Monday, August 21, 2006.

http://cmfwood.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
A diary of a production. Monday, March 20, 2006. We now have audition dates set for the festival show so I have a free rein to choose my audition dates for this November show. And I'm trying as hard as I can to spread enthusiasm throughout the group for the show, in the hopes of recruiting most of my cast before I've started anything formal. With 21 people a scene, this could prove optimistic however. Posted by Claire at 6:35 pm. Saturday, March 11, 2006. I am exceedingly reluctant for my climactic scene...

play thing: April 2006
http://cmfwood.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
A diary of a production. Monday, April 24, 2006. Saturday night saw me at the Royal Bank Drama Club’s production of Ghost Train , a terrible play from which I shall steal no ideas. Except that trying to circumvent the smoking ban by having a character fussing around with lit matches pretending but conspicuously not lighting the cigarette isn’t the best way to get round the ban. Posted by Claire at 9:09 pm. Sunday, April 16, 2006. But I’d come prepared with a couple of the translations of Caucasian Chalk ...

play thing: October 2006
http://cmfwood.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
A diary of a production. Monday, October 30, 2006. Had a shocking rehearsal yesterday. And an expensive one as this was at the Quaker Meeting House so costs us the prime total of 13 an hour. However, given how much dithering and faffing seems to spring from being in something more closely resembling the real stage space, I feel (mostly) glad that we've lashed out to pay for it. Anyway, I was foul tempered by the time we'd finished. Hating everyone. But then my sweet technical boys wanted to consu...All h...

http://cmfwood.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
A diary of a production. Monday, July 24, 2006. Had our first production meeting yesterday. It was tremendously exciting. Nobody laughed when I described my vague 'vision' for the production. More excitingly still, it seems there might be a way to procure a projector so my multimedia dream may yet be shared with a wider audience. My very efficient general manager has all sorts of plans for reduced rates and enterprising deals and so forth. Which would solve the child problem in one neat fell swoop. Well ...

http://cmfwood.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
A diary of a production. Monday, June 26, 2006. Eeeee, it's difficult this. Saw my final (I think) chap today. Now I need to work out permutations of permutations of cast. Too many good people. Not enough good parts. Perhaps I could cast everyone twice over and we'll rotate different sets of cast over different nights. Posted by Claire at 10:20 pm. Thursday, June 22, 2006. Well, fingers crossed, I think we can do this. But how exciting. It’s a lovely light evening the day after the longest day of the...

http://cmfwood.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
A diary of a production. Tuesday, November 28, 2006. More things I'd forgotten about Friday. He (adjudicator) mentioned Caroline and said something along the lines of "born to play the part". Which was exactly right. She's a marvellous actress who seems to do it effortlessly. I'm very jealous. I loved her "it's just their smell I can't stand". And many other of her lines. And her costumes were magic. So that was fitting praise from him. Posted by Claire at 6:09 pm. Sunday, November 26, 2006. Excitingly t...

http://cmfwood.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
A diary of a production. Sunday, December 10, 2006. Poor Joe struggled on stage manfully and was as consistently good as ever. If you'd known he'd knackered a rib, you might have noticed that he was rather less limber in his rising from the dead as Jussup than usual. But I doubt many people would have. And he knocked Azdak around rather more gingerly than he had done previously. But other than this, a fine example of 'the show must go on-ing'. Almost the second we finished, the crew leapt into life and s...
