University of Glasgow Blog. Musings of a second year…. February 22, 2008 in Uncategorized. I have since spoken to my advisor and it turns out that I don’t need to resit it as I don’t plan on taking maths in second year (or indeed in any other shape or form in my entire future life! I just need to get C’s and B’s in my courses this semester and all shall be well. So there you go, you can fail and be absolutely fine. I’m happy with that.🙂. Comments feed for this article. University of Glasgow Blog. Musings of a second year…. March 30, 2008 in Uncategorized. I’m just back from a fantastic, but hectic, holiday in Florida. It was as always a very busy holiday going to all of the theme parks etc and to be honest I’m a bit glad to be home for a rest! Of course I won’t be resting for long with the last few weeks of first year and then the big bad exams in May to study for. It’s kind of scary that I’m almost through first year already! University of Glasgow Blog. Musings of a second year…. March 30, 2009 in Uncategorized. I have not written in some time eh? Well that’s me finished the teaching part of my second year and boy has it flown in! I successfully passed the first semester courses, including building an organism! And as for Molecules, well if I don’t go to that lecture, I can stay in bed until 9 on Thursdays and 10 on Fridays rather than having to get up at 7! I’ve done not bad in my coursework, however I was downgraded a...

University of Glasgow Blog. Musings of a second year…. New Year, New Start. January 24, 2008 in Uncategorized. And I’ve been revising my lecture notes every day when I come home to make sure I know it. This is the way it should have been! I’m sure it will get hard when it gets into the law bit, especially considering most of the class are law students, so the course might assume we all know the basics of law. Sammi now loves uni😉. University of Glasgow Blog. Musings of a second year…. October 23, 2008 in Uncategorized. There honestly actually is cyclops babies and they are the creepiest thing I’ve ever come across! If you are not squeamish, I strongly recommend visiting the anatomy museum as it really is amazing and it’s open to all as far as I know. They have real dissections of every body part downstairs, but you will have to go upstairs to get the real interesting specimens – by that I mean the mutant babies. May I ask what typ...

PhD adventures at the University of Glasgow. Posted February 8, 2009. Filed under: Out and About. As I’ve just spent my weekend working through developing ‘scaffolding’ for my thesis, along with catching up on a bit more marking and reading for my next chapter, I though writing and posting something pithy may make for a nice break both for me, and anyone who’s been reading my ego-centric postings. Learning how to Teach. Posted January 28, 2009. So, I’m going to have to get over this. It’s somewhat th...

PhD adventures at the University of Glasgow. Getting Back to Work. Posted June 13, 2010. So, exams are done, Spring-Session course-work (and marking) are done, and I have free time again…. 8230;to work on my thesis. On the bright side, at least I work on a laptop – so, on those sunny days, I can write outside. I hope, if you’re reading this, that you too are having a warm, happy and, if you’re in my boat, productive summer. Laquo; Being on the Other Side. Still rolling… ». 1 comment so far. I’m Mor...

PhD adventures at the University of Glasgow. Being on the Other Side. Posted April 19, 2010. Filed under: Personal Life. So, it’s been ages since I’ve updated this, and that is largely due to the lack of available hours in a day. I’ve discovered that 24 just doesn’t work for me. I was greatly flattered by a student who approached me and said that he found I was more accessible and understanding, probably because I was still a student and understood a bit of what they were feeling. (And he reads this ...

PhD adventures at the University of Glasgow. Archive for October, 2011 Monthly archive page. Posted October 16, 2011. Sorry for not posting in a while: summer was thesis, and fall is a return to teaching. Which is what today’s post/rant will be about. And tomorrow, I go back into the classroom and keep doing what I love because I want to share ideas with students, to get them to think critically and fall in love with literature...

PhD adventures at the University of Glasgow. Dreams, goals, and education. Posted March 8, 2009. Filed under: Personal Life. Do you settle for the easy-route, the realistic goals, or do you go for your big dreams? The conversation of ‘so what are you going to do with this degree’ is, strangely, one that hasn’t happened in my family. Everyone asks what my goals are (for the record: professor), but never seems to ask that underlying question: ‘will you actually get a job? Laquo; Serenades and Snow. You are...

That which does not fuck me makes me wetter
That which does not fuck me makes me wetter. Used to be a girl. Used to be straight. Now I'm neither. I work at a swim school and we occasionally have birthday parties. I over hear a conversation one of the kids had with their mom. Hears conversation between a mom and daughter who is like 6. Mom: Looking at news article on phone about Sam Smith*. Girl: Mommy why is Sam Smith kissing a boy? Mom: it’s because he’s gay honey. Girl: Mommy what does gay mean? Mom: They can they’re called lesbians.
