Samantha Klus: Ottawa Triathlon Camp
http://samanthaklus.blogspot.com/2012/07/ottawa-triathlon-camp.html
Wednesday, 25 July 2012. Getting ready to ride! Last week was sooooo crazy. Patrick and I spent Monday-Thursday counselling at a triathlon camp for kids ages 8-14. Who knew so many young kids would be interested in triathlon? We had an amazing group of kids with different experience levels. Many showed up with mountain bikes but some kids even had clips and teeny tiny speed bikes! Our days were packed with games, sessions and last but not least…snack breaks (my favourite)! One of my first races! Ah yes, ...

Samantha Klus: PATCO - Edmonton 2012
http://samanthaklus.blogspot.com/2012/07/patco-edmonton-2012.html
Friday, 13 July 2012. PATCO - Edmonton 2012. Of all, big thanks to the Manitoba team Gary for pretty much adopting me for the entire week! I would’ve been terribly lonely and lost if you hadn't have let me tag along with you guys. I just wanted to thank you for letting me eat dinner with you and for driving me to the training sessions as I know I took up a space in your car…(sorry Riley! Also, big congrats to Gabby Edwards and Amelie Kretz for qualifying for the 2012 world junior triathlon championships!

Samantha Klus: August 2012
http://samanthaklus.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Friday, 10 August 2012. Provincials - Ottawa 2012. The wheels of doom. My day started at 4am as I followed my usual breakfast routine and listened to some tunes in order to get me up, keep me up, and pump me up. I arrived at Mooney’s Bay at 5am to find my teammate Elyse getting ready for her bike warm-up, so we headed off together. When we came back, we were surprised to see that the athlete check-in was open EARLY! Turns out they WERE legal and my coach had switched them. At this point I was slightl...

Samantha Klus: Magog 2012
http://samanthaklus.blogspot.com/2012/08/magog-2012.html
Friday, 10 August 2012. Oops, a little late on this one. The 2. Super foggy swim start! Race day began at 4am with a bike warm-up to the course followed by a long run warm-up. We got checked-in and proceeded to the beach for a swim warm-up. At this point it was quite chilly so we decided to warm up with our wetsuits on. We look out to spot the buoys and….WOW where’d they go! After a slight delay in our race start, we were off! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Provincials - Ottawa 2012.

Samantha Klus: Change of plans! Extended season!
http://samanthaklus.blogspot.com/2012/09/change-of-plans-extended-season.html
Wednesday, 19 September 2012. Establishing goals can be a bit of a pain. Are you aiming to high? This can be somewhat discouraging. Too low? Who cares, I decided that this was my goal… within reach… possible…but requiring lots of hard work. After a shaky start to the season in Mexico…my goal seemed so distant, but things gradually started to piece themselves together, albeit not as easily as I’m making it sound! I experienced some ups and some downs in racing and in training as does every athlete.

Samantha Klus: Nationals - Kelowna 2012
http://samanthaklus.blogspot.com/2012/09/nationals-kelowna-2012.html
Tuesday, 4 September 2012. Nationals - Kelowna 2012. Ahh, Kelowna…the land of “peaches and beaches”! This is one of my favourite races. First of all… this city is sooo beautiful as it is filled quaint little shops and spectacular views and second of all… the countless amount of volunteers make this race incredibly organized and well worth your while. It’s also quite spectator friendly and well, lots of fun! Meeh, it was okay…could’ve been better! What’s next you say? Well…after having a few days of...

Samantha Klus: The Canadian Triathlon Relay
http://samanthaklus.blogspot.com/2012/09/the-canadian-triathlon-relay.html
Tuesday, 4 September 2012. The Canadian Triathlon Relay. Now that the craziness of race season has been tamed…I, along with teammates and friends Elyse and Abby decided to participate in The Canadian Triathlon Relay! Yaaay, spice things up for a change! This did not sit too well with Abby at first, but shortly thereafter we convinced her that it would be fun! Hahah sore bum here you come! It’s all good though, Elyse is stuck with biking next year…no doubt about it. Finish line faces are the best!
