A blog about Mental Health Research – Technology, Trials and PPI. How To Win At Academic Presentations. 3 reasons why it’s ok to be a “control” →. Eliza Vs R2-D2 – who’s the better robot therapist? March 4, 2015. Although even robots need hugs! And also appear to try to cop a quick feel whilst doing so. Watch the hands, Romeo! This brings us – finally – to R2-D2. This fab post at the Medium tackles the age old problem of why R2-D2 is awesome but C-3PO is kind of a pain. Huh As if anyone mourned. The slig...

Health Research Should Be Crowd-Funded Through Kickstarter →. 3 reasons why it’s ok to be a “control”. June 10, 2015. Hi all – I wrote this to coincide with Clinical Trials Day. And then managed to miss it completely. Smooth move, Knowles! They have to be better than the treatment you would have gotten anyway. 2 New does not mean better. We don’t know. I’ve had participants in the pa...

A blog about Mental Health Research – Technology, Trials and PPI. Newer posts →. Open Academia: Embracing interaction over transmission. January 8, 2015. Victoria Betton made some excellent observations. There’s a somewhat catty attitude on display in academia’s approach to hearing service user voices. This transmission approach I think is also evident though in how some academics approach PPI ( patient and public involvement. Open eyes, open mind? December 17, 2014. There’s a great post. Thursday, 1 May 2008. Where's your head (wrap) at? It seems head wraps, ribbons and general sparkling embellishment are the raison d'etre amongst fashionista slebs at the moment. I have been observing the growing popularity of such decoration of the head with interest. Being an established fan of ribbons ( see earlier post. And a recent fan of Gossip Girl,. And the Chain Braided Headwrap. Which is sophisticated and summery at the same time, as is the gorgeous Skinny Feather Headwrap. I think the fringe h...

Museum Curiosities | Ramblings about the Museum Sector.

Ramblings about the Museum Sector. Review – FireFire! Better late than never with my next post, so here it goes…. As this year marks the 350th Anniversary of the Great Fire of London, places across the city are holding a host of activities and events (such as those that took place on the actual anniversary at the weekend). One such event is perhaps one of the best exhibitions I have seen this year – FireFire at the Museum of London. Impressive design and layout to fully immerse yourself in the event.

The purpose of my action research is to determine how interactive technology resources can increase student engagement, motivate students to be active in their education, and improve comprehension of content. Neurotic, in a Good Way | Once you realize you're the only thing holding you back, nothing can stop you.

Neurotic, in a Good Way. Once you realize you're the only thing holding you back, nothing can stop you. 1) 20 secs on, 10 off (starting at 7.0, going up by .2 until you reach 8.6, then going back down) – shorter rest periods make this challenging, that’s why I would choose a pretty high incline. 2) 30 second sprints, 30 seconds rest. 3)45 sec sprint, 30 rest. 4)45 sec sprint, 45 sec rest. 5) 1 min sprint, 1 min rest. A blog about Mental Health Research – Technology, Trials and PPI. Health Research Should Be Crowd-Funded Through Kickstarter. July 10, 2015. This is the text of my *humble cough* winning Dangerous Ideas Soapbox presentation at yesterday’s SAPC conference. Not entirely sure how much of this I got in during the 2 minute (and strictly adhered to) time slot, but this is what I intended to cover! Sadly not the actual slide I used in the pitch…. Do we not trust the public to know what research is needed? And m...

Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Make me walk along the path of your commands,. For that is where my happiness is found." Psalms 119:35. WARNING: this may be a long post, so be prepared.* *Words can hardly describe what happened in my heart while in South Africa.
