When I met Randy Newman | This and That
https://sarahmenage.wordpress.com/2012/10/04/351
When I met Randy Newman. When I met Randy Newman after his thrilling performance at The Sage earlier this year, I was so confused and excited that instead of getting him to sign one of his albums and giving him one of mine, I got him to sign mine and then couldn’t give it to him because it would have been rude. Yertiz! His music – just his voice and a gigantic Steinway – made us cry. Feels Like Home was my favourite. He is a genius. Shooting myself in the foot. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
More lyrics to songs for my next album STRIPPED DOWN DITTIES | This and That

More lyrics to songs for my next album STRIPPED DOWN DITTIES. Once I had a band, ooh baby, how I loved them to play. But here in the City of Music, bands just fade away. When Rachel bowed her fiddle, Lord she was adored. But in Paris and Rome and Vienna she gets her bed and board. I fell in love with my bass man, he played so sweet and free. But his bottom line was way way out; he wouldn’t get no fee. My drummer, he was a straight guy, yeah he’d beat no retreat. I got the Bristol muso blues. Too little V...
Lyrics to some songs from my next album | This and That
https://sarahmenage.wordpress.com/2012/10/31/lyrics-to-some-songs-from-my-next-album
Lyrics to some songs from my next album. I used to turn heads in the street. And everyone thought I was sweet. But that was before the change. I used to be eager to please. I’d lie back and say cheese. But that was before the change. Now no-one can see me. And nobody needs me. Its freed me to fester and rage. No longer a flower. I fruited and turned sour. But I’ll find my power in the change. I used to be courted by men. Who I thought were my friends. But that was before the change. When all that counted.
Extract from my second novel, Weeping Glass | This and That
https://sarahmenage.wordpress.com/2012/10/22/extract-from-my-second-novel-weeping-glass
Extract from my second novel, Weeping Glass. When she opened her eyes, and came back to the present, to her real bedroom – the double bed, the door to her left, the windows looking onto a road – the change was physical and sudden, as if she’d been tossed and spun through a time vortex and her stomach blenched in a kind of fourth dimensional vertigo. She wondered if this future had been latent in him. If she’d looked more closely, could she not have seen the clues? These thoughts disturbed her. Inside eve...

Consolations for a maturing woman. 1 It beats the alternative. 2 You’re younger than you will be. 3 It happens to us all. 4 Men become more interested in your mind than your body. 5 Invisibility is quite a gas. I was invited, along with other spa club members, to take part in a Channel 4 documentary about intergenerational inequality. It’s a horrible sounding phrase – in a nutshell: Richard Branson is entitled to a state pension and a free bus pass. I guess most of us are pretty well-heeled (not me!

For an easier read (black on white) cick here: THIS and THAT. Satire just keeps on dying. Since this Brexit business I’ve been following the news as never before; time and again my jaw drops and my lips part, but no laughter comes out. Satire was already dead, so what’s new? I can’t work it out. Was it reborn and did it die again? Politicians have always got away with bollocks but perhaps not this quantity of bollocks, perhaps not so day after day after day. How powerless can you get? She asked. ‘It ...

Wednesday, August 6, 2008. This summer has been one of a kind to say the least.it was my first time living at home after being away for almost a year. The comforts of home have been wonderful! My mom is the best! She has fed me well and my bed is so comfortable :) It is a very weird transition though to come home to rules when you aren't used to having them for a year. Not that I didn't have my own rules back at school, but it's been a little different back at home. It was SO beautiful there!
Sarah Memon's Blog | An insight into my mind!
An insight into my mind! Sarah Memon's Blog. Everything happens for a reason…and now I know the reason! Posted by Sarah Memon. On May 21, 2011. Life keeps on surprising you, some are shockingly unpleasant news and some surprises are so unnerving that you cannot imagine something that wonderful can be happening. In past couple of weeks, I have learnt one crucial lesson, or maybe it’s two: first, never let your faith in Allah waver and second, be patient. My elders […]. My First Mother’s Day! On May 8, 2011.

Soirée à Thués. Public emerveillé par une magnifique prestation" Marie-Ange Granier, Perpignan. HELLO and THANKS FOR VISITING! I have no planned gigs! Sadly, Songwriting Live is dead (or it may just be a coma). For economic reasons the magazine has had to withdraw its involvement, and Andy Davis and I don't feel we can continue without their journalistic support. A huge warm gushing thanks to everyone who took part - players and audience too. It was brilliant! For one of my previous novels -. And Pete Br...

Open letter to Inside Health, Radio 4, 25 June 2013. I speak as a breast cancer survivor – an intelligent woman and a regular listener to Radio 4 – who could probably have avoided contracting the disease if only I had known what I now know. It enrages me that Inside Health is involved in the promotion of dangerous and expensive drugs, when it should be informing people on how to improve their health and well-being. More lyrics to songs for my next album STRIPPED DOWN DITTIES. Love in a wet climate. Too m...

Guys, I’m normally pretty good at picking up new languages, but this conversation is still giving me trouble. Can someone help interpret? Woman: Excuse me, do you have organic daikon? Woman: You don’t ever carry organic daikon do you? Man: No I don’t believe so. But it’s not on the dirty dozen right? I mean it’s not one of the clean 15, but still. Secretly Becoming a Pastry Chef. Why are road races so effing expensive? Posted in Shelf of Sin. I removed common English words, as well as like, get and got.

Much of the last year and a half Sarah has developed a god complex in relation to a fictional world she has created. Created on the opposite layer of our earth, running parallel to humans, is a world wackier than one could imagine but connected to the world we live in. This "middle earth" is what stems her art and she hopes to allow others a glimpse into her creation. 15ft x 15ft x 8ft. Sea Creatures In Space. 1" x 1"& 3" x 3". 1" x 1"& 1" x 2" and 4" x 4".
