My work and rantings.because everyone needs an outlet. Monday, September 10, 2012. That portrait I was painting last night of Evelyn got painted over.Matisse style! No I didn't actually save over it.) But here is my fauv version of Evelyn. I was learning about expressionism in my Art History class and was so overwhelmed with inspiration that this happened. :). art alicia: April 2013
http://artalicia.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
My work and rantings.because everyone needs an outlet. Sunday, April 21, 2013. Shading on the other hand. I do commend a lot of my classmates who did excellent work in this class! But let's cut to the chase. :). This bad boy is the Hypershade (and the Attribute Editor on the right). Look confusing and scary? THAT'S BECAUSE IT IS. And that is what you have to work with to create textures. Even the name Hypershade scares me. The rules were no Photoshopping allowed! That was 100% rendered in Maya, baby!

art alicia: Digital Paint WIP
http://artalicia.blogspot.com/2012/09/digital-paint-wip.html
My work and rantings.because everyone needs an outlet. Sunday, September 9, 2012. Well, I have been doing a lot of "research" on how to blend digital paints and stuff like that. So I am finally sort of getting the hang of it. I got some semi-smooth transitions in there. I have also been having a LOT of fun making different brushes to play with. I really like the more speckled brushes for painting portraits than the smooth, soft brushes. It gives the skin more texture and more character.

art alicia: Week 3 Exercises
http://artalicia.blogspot.com/2012/10/week-3-exercises.html
My work and rantings.because everyone needs an outlet. Tuesday, October 9, 2012. This week we are learning about textures, patterns and lighting. So of course we had to do a basic value drawing. There were five exercises this week, which took me by surprise because there has usually been three. This exercise was way more fun than I thought it would be. No lines allowed here, it had to be all value surfaces. I'm pleased with how it turned out, except for maybe the top left area. This one was fun! View my ...

art alicia: August 2012
http://artalicia.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
My work and rantings.because everyone needs an outlet. Monday, August 27, 2012. Aaaaand because I am deleriously tired and having cravings:. I've always started trying to learn digital paint by going into a full on portrait of someone. That's silly. We start with stick figures. Or.well, I decided to start with a candle. Anyways, here it is. A.pretty picture? Sunday, August 26, 2012. So I play Minecraft. This is the inside of my treehouse. Well, the downstairs part, at least. This is my underground jungle...

art alicia: Doodle Journal Prompts
http://artalicia.blogspot.com/2012/09/doodle-journal-prompts.html
My work and rantings.because everyone needs an outlet. Monday, September 17, 2012. This is my doodle journal! It's an empty sketchbook just waiting to be filled with all sorts of nonsense. My goal is to do at least one page per day. I can maybe do some collages and some poetry in there too. Whatever tickles my fancy. You should do one too! It's good for the soul. I know I will be referring back to this post often. Most importantly, have fun with it! Doodle your home from the outside. Make a random scribb...

art alicia: My Art History Work
http://artalicia.blogspot.com/2012/09/my-art-history-work.html
My work and rantings.because everyone needs an outlet. Thursday, September 20, 2012. My Art History Work. My second class at Full Sail, Art History, had two digital painting projects. The first was a digital cave painting from scratch. The second was a digital pop art painting from a photo of yourself. So anyways, I finally got the OK to share my work online from Full Sail. So I will be putting up all of my art for school on here from now on. Yay! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My Art History Work.
