Jumped on a train to Ipswich today in order to have a wander around Christchurch park. Mabel. Wasn't anywhere to be seen, nor were the mandarin ducks. A recent holiday in Sussex gave me the chance to catch up with a very good friend of mine. We actually "met" some years ago on an online forum and have since become good friends, in fact there are a few people from those days whom I now call real life friends. I challenged myself to take photos despite the wind. Trying to demonstrate how windy it was. This one wasn't hard, water lilies don't move too much in the wind. One method I used was to try shooting in. The slightly more protected woodland areas. Not part of the challenge but who could resist? Did I succeed or not?

A small gathering of veterans and their families met in the Abbey gardens rose garden to mark the 70th anniversary of D-Day. Back in June, thanks to the generosity of Tamsin Lewis I got to spend a wonderful day at Kentwell Hall during their Tudor Recreation weekend.
