Through One Dad's Eye: A Disgustingly Perfect Day, a Grill, and Hummingbirds
http://smalltowndad.blogspot.com/2010/06/disgustingly-perfect-day-grill-and.html
Monday, June 28, 2010. A Disgustingly Perfect Day, a Grill, and Hummingbirds. I checked. It really is "room temperature" outside: 69° Fahrenheit. There's enough of a breeze to discourage mosquitoes but not bother people, the sky is clear, bright blue - it gets a little better around here, but not by much, and not often. My wife and #3 daughter are off, doing errands. I'm here, by the now-superfluous air conditioner, getting the day's work done. I was going to refill the tank Saturday afternoon - but took...

Through One Dad's Eye: Good News, Not-So-Good News, and a Monthly SNAFU
http://smalltowndad.blogspot.com/2014/11/good-news-not-so-good-news-and-monthly.html
Monday, November 24, 2014. Good News, Not-So-Good News, and a Monthly SNAFU. The good news is that, thanks to today's medical knowledge, I can keep my brain in good working order. The not-so-good news is that I must jump through a few bureaucratic hoops every month to get a particular prescription filled. I understand why this is the case, but it's still a tad frustrating.( March 18, 2014. For nearly a week. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Unique, innovative candles. Bull; Find a Retailer. Through One Dad's Eye: July 2013
http://smalltowndad.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Getting into a chair earlier this week, I put weight on my arms while lowering myself: a routine process that I've done tens of thousands of times over the decades. This time I heard a sort of 'sitting-on-an-egg-carton' sound in my right shoulder, accompanied by a complicated set of signals from the neurons in that zone. The nerve endings were mostly saying 'OUCH! There's a moral there, but never mind. Links to this post. Monday, July 8, 2013. Fuzzy Photo, and Strawberries.

Through One Dad's Eye: January 2015
http://smalltowndad.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 6, 2015. First, the good news. We've deployed heaters in occupied rooms of the house, and my wife's called the repair tech. Now, the not-so-good news. Our furnace is on the fritz. Again. It stopped working the night of December 29, during below-zero weather. That's hardly unusual: the weather, not our furnace failing. Finally, more good news. We're getting another opportunity to practice patience, while the latest furnace problem gets solved. I am, anyway. Links to this post. Add to Tech...

Through One Dad's Eye: May 2013

Friday, May 24, 2013. Popping a Lens: Twice. I've been short-changing myself on sleep this week: far from a good idea. That might be part of the reason that I dropped my 'task' glasses today. Twice. Actually, the first time I brushed against them, tried to stop them from falling by pushing on them with my arm: at which point the right lens popped out and bounced - - - elsewhere. Careful about flexing the frames. That, I can do. My son had questions about high-definition programming through our cable prov...

Through One Dad's Eye: January 2014
http://smalltowndad.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Back to 'Adjusted Normal'. I took my methylphenidate. Prescription this morning, for the first time since - Saturday, I think. I'd miscounted, which resulted in my getting the request for another prescription into the local pharmacy's system last week. I confirmed that the fax was sent to the St. Cloud office, called there to make sure it had been received, with an oral assurance that the authorization would be in the next day's mail. I spent all day Sunday and Monday feeling a...

Through One Dad's Eye: Good News, Not-So-Good News, and a Prescription
http://smalltowndad.blogspot.com/2014/03/good-news-not-so-good-news-and.html
Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Good News, Not-So-Good News, and a Prescription. First, the good news. Authorization for the prescription finally came through, and my son picked it up from the pharmacy after supper. Now,the not-so-spiffy news. It could be worse. I might have to wait while a messenger walks there with a missive, warms his feet at the fire while someone chases a goose to get a writing quill - - - yes, it could be worse. :).
