Wimborne Design: Kitchen Garden
http://wimbornedesign.blogspot.com/p/kitchen-garden.html
I have been developing my kitchen garden for nearly 12 years. The amount of time and effort I put into the garden varies according to how well my back is at any one time! I have help in the garden once a week from Steve, who is fantastic and does all the hard work for me. Fruit trees in the Kitchen Garden include: Pear. Williams (2 espaliers), Concorde; Apples. Discovery, Russet, Blenheim Orange; Crab. John Downie; Quince. Vranja, Meeches Prolific; Damson. Shopshire Prune; Plum. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://wimbornedesign.blogspot.com/2011/05/collecting-my-first-honey-bee-swarm.html
Friday, 6 May 2011. Collecting my first Honey bee Swarm. Heavens, I have spent this evening collecting my first ever bee swarm from a neighbour's front garden. Be careful what you wish for as I had just been saying last week that I wanted a swarm this year - however I rather hoped someone else might have collected it for me and delivered it to my door! Well fingers crossed the queen is in there. I will feed them sugar syrup tomorrow and hopefully they will stay. Friday, May 06, 2011. Follow the above lin...

Wimborne Design: March 2011
http://wimbornedesign.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, 20 March 2011. I also have some later varieties such as Victoria to follow on and am hoping to make some rhubarb and ginger jam - which is delicious. I also like to make a rhubarb and orange custart tart which can be very posh with a caramelised sugar topping. Crumble, traybake - ginger or orange sponge with some ground almonds and chopped rhubarb, if ginger ad some chopped preserved ginger too. Sunday, March 20, 2011. Links to this post. Wimborne Design: Hens
http://wimbornedesign.blogspot.com/p/keeping-hens.html
Collective noun for a flock of hungry hens "the Rotavators" Beware if you have young plants of letting your girls free range around the garden. Mature plants are not at risk as after an initial frenzy for anything green, they settle down and have a good scratch for bugs and things. They can cause merry havoc in a small garden if let loose. It does however provide shelter from the elements as chooks doen't like getting wet. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). One Day my Plinth will Come! View my complete profile.
