Chicago Needles: War of the Broccoli Cheddar Cornbread, Oh It's On!
http://chicagoneedles.blogspot.com/2013/01/war-of-broccoli-cheddar-cornbread-oh.html
Monday, January 28, 2013. War of the Broccoli Cheddar Cornbread, Oh It's On! I am so sick of the kids telling me how much they can't eat the food I make while Avi avoids the children and takes four helpings. I ask Lily why she isn't eating, "I wish I could say something bad about the food.why I'm not eating this.". I am so darn tired of her pickiness and she was just measured at her (very late) annual and she was barely in the 1% BMI so I think it's ok if I make her eat something she doesn't like. The sl...

Chicago Needles: Gam Zu Letovah
http://chicagoneedles.blogspot.com/2013/02/gam-zu-letovah.html
Friday, February 01, 2013. Children's books, especially Jewish themed children's books are brimming with moral and ethical lessons in which the child can learn a valuable lesson from, right? Who knew that I. Would be the one with the take away while dealing with craziness that we call our home! The conversation went something like this:. I think your basement is flooding. Avi: Holy Hashem it is! Gam zu latovah I know this is good, hashem made it happen just as it should.". So while we wait for plumbers t...

Chicago Needles: August 2012

Thursday, August 30, 2012. Nice to See You Again, Sue. The love for dinosaurs still flourishes so we joined the Field Museum! He was a bit scared of Sue the T-rex today and didn't want to get too close. Like many fears, he understands intellectually that She cannot hurt him and it's just bones but I guess She still has an intimidation factor! Here is a cute one of Max waiting at our new bus stop for this year, just two doors down from our house! Don't Toy with me Ernie! Me: Do you have a kiss for mommy?

Chicago Needles: October 2012
http://chicagoneedles.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 31, 2012. My kids were obsessed with all the costumed children who came knocking on our door trick-or-treating. Not sure how I feel about it. On the one hand they should be aware that we are not all the same and we should have tolerance for other people's beliefs and customs as we would like them to be towards us. On the other hand, wouldn't it be nice if they weren't excited about a pagan holiday? Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Carpooling cousins and neighbors! Friday, October 26, 2012.

Chicago Needles: Disney on Ice
http://chicagoneedles.blogspot.com/2013/01/disney-on-ice.html
Sunday, January 27, 2013. We thought the kids were at the cusp of being too old for Disney on Ice but then we thought, what the heck - they'll love it! And they so did! It was very princess based (not like the one we saw when Max was still gestating) and it was a bit too long for Max's attention span but he did like most of it, especially with Mickey and Minnie Mouse! Ariel, the little mermaid had a huge part in this performance! Belle had a nice showing, I always like a role model that reads!
