The room also serves as additional counter space when we run big kitchen items like the mixer or crock-pot, and it's where the naughty cat. Can't help uploading another one. I too love cooking. We hired a local electrician to upgrade our service from 60 to 100 amps. That portion of the work went fairly well. But the house still needed rewiring to take advantage of the upgrade. But I did find the perfect fabric for a curtain in the nook (aka the happy room). It was a remnant at the fabric store. Michael and Sandy's Old Kentucky Home. Sunday, August 17, 2008. If working on the house was an olympic event, I think we would have at least won a silver this weekend :). Friday: My mom and I drove to Nashville to Lumber Liquidators to pick up bamboo flooring. Friday evening was taking apart the cabinets, and Michael creating his awesome paneling! The beautiful view from our front porch. The super scary light "fixture" in our kitchen. The third fixture we've found to be burnt and black inside.

Michael and Sandy's Old Kentucky Home. Tuesday, May 29, 2007. Our roof is enormous. It is very hard work. We both can't wait until it is done! I can't believe how much I've done on the roof, not as much as Michael of course, but I'm pretty proud of myself :) I'm also very proud of Michael, he's doing an awesome job :) We are also very glad and lucky that there has been no rain since we tore off the roof, and it looks like there won't be any until Saturday! Vegetables: there's enough space for a relatively huge vegetable garden on the south side. I hope to plant two kinds of tomatoes, peppers (sweet and hot), onions, garlic, chives, pumpkins, lettuce, and some herbs.
