Screwjack Lift Problem #1. POOR BALANCE ON STEPS. The screwjack type lifts are notorious for their problems with balance on a stairway. Owners often say. I had to stand on the handles to balance the load. Can perfectly balance the load over the fulcrum point. Notice that the operators of the screwjack lift. Must totally counter balance the weight of the load. The force is so great that the lift rails may bend. And operators are forced to allow the rails to scrape on the step.

Misc Screwjack Lift Problems. I got my tie caught in the screw. Screwjack Lift owners often complain of the screw spraying oil on their shirts! One dissatisfied customer even had his tie get caught in the screw, and his head pulled into the handtruck. The Effort'O'Meter above shows that the Screwjack Lift is the Hard Way not the Easy Way. Screwjack Lifts put such a large drain on their batteries that according to a Screwjack company manual the batteries can last up to a year. Are very reasonably priced!

I was busier than a one armed paper hanger. Where headroom is a problem. The battery died and we got stuck on the steps. Hold the lift to avoid SCRAPING on the step. I put a pipe through the wheels to lock them. It would make a good boat anchor. I would rather shotput the jukebox. I got my tie caught in the screw.
