Today we'll share an interview with RIMQG member Tina Craig and gain some insight into how she became a Modern Quilter. 1 Tell us about yourself. 2 How did you learn how to quilt? I started quilting shortly after we were married. I saw an ad in the paper for a beginner quilting class at Colchester Mill, which was a perfect way to start. Quilting, Life and Other Stuff. A place to chronicle my quilting activities, and life activities. Thursday, January 22, 2015. One of my favorite blogs is Seaside Stiches. Tina shares great information and she too lives in New England. A group from our guild organizes a retreat every year, and this year there are actually two sessions going on. Both in February - I know February - Coastal Maine - but it is beautiful and we have been lucky in past years - no major snow issues! You can use them as:. Canton ...

come tarry with me: January 2015
http://cometarrywithme.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Come Tarry with Me. Friday, January 30, 2015. Medallion block - Stitched in Color. I signed up for Rachel's Handstitching online class, www.StitchedinColor.com and I'm loving it. This is the beginnings of a medallion quilt. I forgot how much I like doing embroidery. On the plain white border up above will be more embroidered lines, satin and jewels. Anyone else taking one of Rachel's classes? She is also teaching a curves class. Links to this post. Thursday, January 1, 2015. May you have spiritual Sundays.

2muchfun: Another UFO Finished
http://eileenmcgee.blogspot.com/2013/02/another-ufo-finished.html
Is what I have when I'm creating. February 19, 2013. Here is another counted cross stitch item I have been working on for a number of years. I moved along with it at a quick pace, then I got to the backstitch portion and came to a screeching halt. The reason for the halt, the backstitch instructions were not laid out very well and when the counted cross stitch aficionados I spoke with couldn't figure it out either I said "I'll just wing it.". The design is titled "Under the Oaks" by Barbara and Cheryl.

2muchfun: Luck and Money
http://eileenmcgee.blogspot.com/2013/01/luck-and-money.html
Is what I have when I'm creating. January 1, 2013. The popular way to prepare the black-eyed peas is to cook a pot of Hoppin' John,. And the greens are usually collard greens or mustard greens. Today I was curious about the history of these two traditions. I found out the practice of eating black-eyed peas dates back to the Civil War. Plentiful as the new year approached, and being green symbolize money. I wish all of you (y'all) a year of luck and money in 2013. 1/3/13, 7:06 PM. View my complete profile.

Is what I have when I'm creating. April 11, 2013. Bread Tag Wedding Dress. Now this is what I call "thinking out side the box" or "bag". Stephanie Watson. Of Australia made her wedding dress out of 10,000 bread tags she collected over 10 years. I can't imagine how many sewing machine needles she went through by the time the dress was completed. Kudos to her though, the dress looks lovely. I love the grooms' hat! Note: Only a member of this blog may post a comment. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

2muchfun: Stash and a kick in the rear
http://eileenmcgee.blogspot.com/2013/01/stash-and-kick-in-rear.html
Is what I have when I'm creating. January 3, 2013. Stash and a kick in the rear. Last night, while reading some of the quilting group messages and blogs I subscribe to, I came across a couple of groups I have decided to join. I am hoping to whittle down my stash again and give myself a kick in the rear to finish the UFO's I have. I thought the Block Lotto. I think the Project: UFO 2.0. Group will give me the incentive I need to finish the projects that have been put on the back burner too long.

Wandering Geese – A Work in Progress. April 23, 2014. April 30, 2014. This wacky variation of flying geese would make a great border. So far I only have about 6 inches sewn. I think I will transform this pattern into one of my monthly table runners. I wanted to make my geese wander around but I didn’t want to fuss with paper piecing. Luckily I have plenty of stash fabric to play with! Next I matched up my accent triangles with the strips to create my final strip (see photo). Laying everything out was...
