History of Sopchoppy Education Center. The Sopchoppy Education Center, known to many as the Old Sopchoppy High School, was the first high school to be built in Wakulla County. It was a one-story, rectangular building on a 2.72-acre site in the City of Sopchoppy. The school was used continuously and without interruption as a public school from 1924 until March 1996. Click for Lunch Menus. A student may not exceed one assignment to Second Chance in middle school (grades 6-8) and one assignment in high school (grades 9-12). A second offense warranting Second Chance placement at the same level (middle or high school) may result in expulsion. Students transferring in from a similar program or transitioning from a Juvenile Justice program may be placed in the Second Chance School for a specified time determined by the Placement Committee.
