Sewing Barefoot

You know what's funny. I spent the past week on vacation thinking that every sink I encountered was HUGE. Oversized. Awkwardly big. During my renovations, I gutted the kitchen (sink #2) and tore out the hall bathroom vanity (sink #3). I've been living with teeny tiny little sink #1 as my ONLY sink in the house. It's funny how you can so quickly get used to something and begin to think that other things are awkwardly out of size/place because of this. Just a random thought. Created by Shannon Barefoot.

Sewing Barefoot: 11.13

http://sewingbarefoot.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

I love him. He has to be one of the cutest monsters I've ever made from one of Danger Craft's. Patterns. If you haven't checked out here Etsy site, go there now. Seriously. She has oodles of adorbale monster and toy knitting patterns. Cecil is one of the patterns she offers from her first book. The book is filled with lots of adorable creatures to create. I think I'll go start another knitting project. Created by Shannon Barefoot. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Get this tabber widget.

Sewing Barefoot: mug cozies

http://sewingbarefoot.blogspot.com/2013/01/mug-cozies.html

Ever since I learned to crochet (which was just about a month or so ago) I've wanted to make mug cozies. They're so cute and warm and pretty. I whipped up these 2 mug cozies for my cousin and my brother's girl friend for Christmas. They were a hit. I originally got the idea from this post. But I ended up doing my own thing (I don't follow patterns very well). I added a loop at the top and the bottom that looped around the button to secure the cozy to the mug. Here's a small breakdown of how to make these:.

Sewing Barefoot: knit cactus

http://sewingbarefoot.blogspot.com/2012/11/knit-cactus.html

Before I get into this post. I have a confession. I really don't know what's wrong with me. I love plants. I water them. I enjoy them in my house. I give them sunlight.DEAD. I can't explain it. I couldn't take it anymore so I found a way not to kill them:. These little guys will live forever! They're cuddly but still look like a cactus. The big round one even has "spikes." They're fun to make and don't take much time. I don't have patterns for them, but here is a little rundown of how I made them:. I don...

Sewing Barefoot: easy boot cuffs

http://sewingbarefoot.blogspot.com/2014/01/easy-boot-cuffs.html

Something that has been on my "to do" list for a while were a pair of boot cuffs. I wear boots ALL winter and love to have cuffs and leg warmers underneath. I knew I could easily make some to add to my collection so I searched through my stash of yarn and got started. Who wants to make a pair? Yarn of your choice. Needle to stitch in loose ends. CH 40 (or how ever many stitches it takes for your chain to wrap around your leg snuggly in multiples of 3 1). DC in all stitches, CH 2 and turn. I would be more...

Colours & Things: January 2013

http://coloursandthings.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Jan 14, 2013. So it's 2013, the world didn't end, and my long-lost little blog begins the year with a new name, a new face, and a new-found confidence. A lot of people don't care much for new years resolutions - many stress that if a change is needed, why not start right away? Why instead delude ourselves into thinking that the house will be far easier to clean, and that the gym membership will be far more useful, if we wait until the first of January? Manning Valley, NSW. Great Lakes, NSW. 3 I will crea...

A Possibly Perfect Refashion. Sep 6, 2013. Days are getting warmer, which means its getting easier to photograph my recent projects! It would be easier still if my sewing ever followed any kind of seasonal pattern, but what can you do. At least theres no incentive to rush when youre working on something that will be unwearable for the next two months :P. For me, that something was this dress:. Ignore the awkward sour face - it really is comfy! I realise you cant see this in the photo, but it really was!
