Shane's Travel Adventures

This blog is dedicated to the musings of a traveling fool. That's me! And my sidekick Sarah :). Friday, December 17, 2010. Yup, it's been a while since I posted my last entry as my cousin was so observant to point out. It's been crazy busy, getting married, working on year-end stuff and generally trying to stay out of trouble (not so successful). So, I'll try and catch up over the course of the next few days, or at least until I leave for a new adventure :). After we finished our beers, we decided to tak...

Shane's Travel Adventures: Bandalier National Park

http://www.shanestravel.blogspot.com/2010/07/bandalier-national-park.html

This blog is dedicated to the musings of a traveling fool. That's me! And my sidekick Sarah :). Thursday, July 8, 2010. A continuation of our recent New Mexico trip. We decided on Tuesday to stay a little close to home. We have always loved going to Bandalier. To do some hiking and with the proximity of the ancient ruins to the trail head, Sarah and I figured it would be a nice little exercise for my parents. My dad is a bit of a history buff and my mom, well, she just likes adventure and anything new.

This blog is dedicated to the musings of a traveling fool. That's me! And my sidekick Sarah :). Sunday, June 27, 2010. We left Santa Fe about 0900 this morning with the intent on getting down south a bit early to do some tourist stuff. Our first stop, other than Albuquerque to fix a power-outage for a client, was Socorro, NM. Socorro is home to, well. Socorrans. That's about it. The operational facility for the Very Large Array. Is located here and coincidentally, the VLA was our next stop. That was pret...

This blog is dedicated to the musings of a traveling fool. That's me! And my sidekick Sarah :). Monday, July 12, 2010. At the end of the last blog, we had returned from Bandalier Tuesday afternoon to perfect weather in Santa Fe and some really yummy Kebab's. We had a big day in store for us on Wednesday, leaving early morning to get up to Chama, NM by 9AM to hop on a bus for our later morning train departure from Antonito, CO. The Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. The trip ended as all trips on the Cum...

This blog is dedicated to the musings of a traveling fool. That's me! And my sidekick Sarah :). Thursday, June 24, 2010. Well this just sucks. Looks like there was a fire on the railroad last night. Http:/ www.cumbrestoltec.com/. That really blows. I really hope it wasn't an arson. If so, maybe we can find him and tie him to the tracks. It's Thursday morning and in just a few short hours, we'll be on our way to Santa Fe again! We'll be doing the Cumbres and Toltec. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Flying: June 2010

http://shanesflying.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings. Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds. Thursday, June 24, 2010. Any excuse to fly is OK by me. Tuesday was no exception. We had a potential client out at the French Valley Airport (F70) that was looking for a surveillance solution. So I grabbed my account manager, quickly requisitioned our trusty Cirrus and off we went. Another uneventful, absolutely gorgeous flight in sunny Southern...

Flying: $100 Hamburger

http://shanesflying.blogspot.com/2010/08/100-hamburger.html

I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings. Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds. Wednesday, August 4, 2010. I had been chomping at the bit to fly since it had been a few weeks so I jumped at the chance when someone asked me if I'd take them up. I eagerly obliged and booked the Cirrus. I found a couple eager replacements and soon, we were off to KPOC. Here's a video that we took on our way back. Enjoy:.

Winter in San Diego. It's been a while since I've written on the blog. I've been working like crazy and trying to study up for my big CFI checkride in a week. It's been a great few months here in San Diego. Weather in San Diego area has been steadily changing to our typical Southern California winter.

From cute and cuddly to large European engines, LGB is highly detailed and somewhat expensive. However, they hold their value much longer than most other models. They are a little expensive if you have to repair them which shouldn't be for about 10-20 years! Is there sound with this model?
