Saturday, November 19, 2011. Oh my I feel like working on the new house has completely consumed our lives. If you minus sleeping we probably spend more time up at the new house more than our current home. The kiddos have been troopers. I told Callie this the other day, and she got very serious and said, "no, mommy. I'm not a trooper, I'm Callie." They spend about half of the time doing this-. And the other half doing things like this-. Hopefully we will not find her doing this in 10 years. Apparently, we...

Saturday, October 22, 2011. We are excited about this fixer-upper, because it is one house closer to our married life dream of living on a chunk of land. It's also exciting because this house is closer to Nate's work, an Aunt and Uncle, and a Nature Area. It also has wood floors and interior closets (our current home does not have an interior closet, which should be outlawed in Texas where we have tornados.). Front porch. Forgot to take a full exterior house picture. This is a view from the kitchen into ...

the Bishop's wife: Open Your Eyes
http://bishopfun.blogspot.com/2012/12/open-your-eyes.html
Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Open your eyes,. I was confused. We just got to the hospital. I had been in the room maybe five minutes. They were supposed to be getting my epidural ready. I probably would have delivered the baby with no nurse staff present if Nate hadn't rushed out to get them. I obeyed, and watched my purple-footed baby take her first breaths. Our baby arrived during a hard season in our lives. She expresses quite often. She's the most huggable creature alive. She likes the color blue.

Saturday, December 3, 2011. One room down, five more to go. I didn't have a good before pic of the dining room, but it looked exactly like these walls. So first we had to do an insane amount of scraping. Even with all the scraping we did, it's not perfect. We finally just had to let go and remember that this is an old house. We can't fix all of the past owners mistakes unless we want to buy all new trim or spend three or more months scraping and sanding. Nate said working on the house is turning us gray.

Saturday, March 24, 2012. Life is a little more chaotic with Toby, but for the most part, it's been an easy and enjoyable transition to three kids. With Callie being a little older than 3.5 years, and Ellie being 2.5 years when Toby was born, I really just added an incredibly easy newborn with two little sweet helpers. Splendid. They can not keep their hands off him. Friday, March 9, 2012. Wise Words from Callie. And then your pee pee makes milk, chocolate milk, and water! Me: I don't know. I'm a Not so ...

Monday, April 18, 2011. God Watches Over You. Little three year old minds are quite funny. And I can't but believe God had a little chuckle after hearing Callie work through this thought-. Talking after bedtime prayer. Me: Callie, you can always talk to God. God is always listening and always watching you. Callie: Does God change Callie's diaper? Me: No, mommy changes you into your diaper at night. I guess God could watch though. Callie: Does God change Mommy's diaper? Me: Mommy doesn't wear diapers.

the Bishop's wife: God's Timing
http://bishopfun.blogspot.com/2009/12/gods-timing.html
Friday, December 18, 2009. Today we have managed to keep Ellie alive for a year. What a year it has been. When I think back on that week that Ellie was born sometimes it feels like a century ago, but really it feels like it was just yesterday. Has it really been a year already? But when I think of the details in that day and the days following, God's timing is what got us through. God had it planned for us, and it was perfect. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Friday, August 5, 2011. Bad people belong in pots. Callie is upstairs watching Nate put on his work vest, gun belt, work boots. Nate: I'm going to work. Callie: no, I don't want you to go to work. Nate: I have to go to work. Callie: Oh, you're going to kill the bad people. No, I'm going to catch the bad people and put them in jail. Callie: Oh and put them in pots? Nate: No, in jail. It's a room with bars, and they can't get out. Callie: And it's got a lock on it? Nate: yes, and they can't get out. Okay w...
