January 07, 2012. I like to eat. And I sometimes like to cook. If what I cook looks good to you, you can cook it too. I tend not to follow recipes; instead, I create to taste using whatever ingredients I have on hand. Sometimes I loosely follow directions, more often, I cook how I feel. Beef Stew with Rutabaga. Easy to make beef stew with rutabaga instead of potatoes. Egg Drop Crab and Corn Soup. Very, very semi-homemade. Takes only minutes to prepare and cook. My kids love it. Split Pea with Chicken.

June 27, 2014. It was a lovely day today, despite it being overcast with the occasional drizzle. We headed to the park in the afternoon where Jacob played with several kids who were just younger than himself. A three-year-old girl was quite curious about Francesca. And it seemed the two wanted to communicate and play with each other, but they didn't quite know how. She's known who the tooth fairy is for some years now. When do they reach the age of just outright exchanging the tooth for a buck?

April 06, 2009. I've got eating on my mind. For dinner tonight, I made a pork stir fry with carrots, sugar snap peas, and napa cabbage. I used a ton of garlic, some ginger, and sliced onions. I flavored it with hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, just a tiny splash of soy sauce, a bit of sesame oil, and black pepper. It was so good! I also made a side of asparagus and cherry tomatoes. Oh man was that delicious! A great island breakfast: corned beef hash and eggs on rice. April 06, 2009. Yummmmy.now I'm hungry.

April 22, 2008. Do you see it? First the old lady jiggly arms. Do you see it? Do you see the gray hair? Oh sure, I've had the occasional gray sectional faded into my brunette hair. But those three incidents were brought on by stress. It is not two centimeters of gray in the middle of a brown strand. It is a new gray strand! June 18, 2014. It can be difficult to tell exactly when things change. Sometimes finding that first gray hair. Is easy. "Oh my gosh, my first gray hair. When did this happen? But then you keep searching and find another. And another still. And you realize that you really have no idea which one was the first one. When we were young it was all about the newest and best. Check out my new bag. It cost $125.". Only ten pairs of these shoes were made. Sure, now I have bunions, but look at how cute they are!

April 23, 2009. I'm sorry I've been away. I don't even really have an excuse. I've been busy, sure. But not so busy that I couldn't steal 15 minutes to post now and then, since I just know. You're all waiting with baited breath to read about my latest life developments. Wait. What? What have I been busy with? My kids. (And my new niece!
