Songs are like tattoos.ink on a pin, underneath the skin, an empty space to fill in. I've thought about this a lot. Probably not enough, but A LOT, ok? How can one ever think about a tattoo. You might think that someone who changes the color of her hair every 2 months shouldn't be making any decisions that involve the word 'permanent' (unless it is, in fact, to get a perm), but it's too late for that. I also got a star tattoo over my IV scar. Im glad that of all the music artists out there, you chose Joni.

Q: At the end of your Rolling Stone Top 500 reviews, you have a section that says, "Is This Better Than [Name of Some Other Album]." What's that about? A: Well, it started back at #384. Not an important ranking in any obvious way, except that there was an EFFING BEATLES ALBUM at it. A Hard Day's Night. Was in the 300s. The 300s! I was so upset that I vowed to judge every other album on the list from that day forward in a comparison to A Hard Day's Night. Medical odyssey part dos. Medical odyssey part tres.

The Takeover" and "Heart of the City (Ain't No Love)" and "Song Cry". So this album was released on a label called Rock-A-Fella, which was founded by Jay-Z. At first when I saw it I literally thought: "OMG IS THAT A THROWBACK REFERENCE TO ROCK-A-PELLA, THE ACAPELLA GROUP FROM WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CARMEN SAN DIEGO. I suddenly respect Jay-Z more than anyone else in the world. And then I realized he was probably referencing John D. Rockefeller. And I had a sad. Where in the World is Carmen San Diego. How t...

By T Rex MARYANNIMAL. Mambo Sun" and "Cosmic Dancer" and "Jeepster" and "Get It On" and "Planet Queen" and "Girl" and "The Motivator" and "Life's A Gas". I think half the appeal is Marc Bolan's eerie, intimate vocals, and even on the faster and louder songs on this album he maintains the same personal quality. He's not screaming his lyrics at me, but keeping his voice close and controlled. Monolith" reminded me of Rocky Horror Picture Show. With its backing choir ,. As good, I would say! Strutter" and "Hotter Than Hell" and "Firehouse" and "C'mon and Love Me" and "Parasite" and "She" and "Watchin' You" and "100,000 Years" and "Black Diamond" and "Rock Bottom" and "Rock and Roll All Nite" and "Let Me Go, Rock 'n' Roll". Okay, let me start by saying that the album cover image is stellar, and I love it. I loved the cover on the other Kiss album we heard way back 2011: Destroyer. But it wasn't until I heard "Cold Gin" that I decided I needed to own this album. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

A Day for Love and Equality. Today the Supreme Court ruled that same-sex couples can marry in all 50 United States. I am so excited to be not only alive, but relatively young, when this moment in history FINALLY arrived! I'm so pleased and tickled and excited for all the LGBTIQA people in my life that have fought and dreamed for this day. I kept trying to think of a song I wanted to post to celebrate, but none felt celebratory enough to be the ONLY song. So I made a playlist. All You Need Is Love. Is Thi...
