The Middle of Somewhere: December 2008
http://smaccalaska.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
The Middle of Somewhere. Teaching, living, and now raising a male offspring unit in Nunapitchuk, Alaska. Wednesday, December 10, 2008. From Bad to worse. 28 (now 29) posts in 2008. And it's not like nothing blogworthy happened. I popped out a baby, for chrissake. I guess raising a kid is just more important than blogging about him. I should try harder, though. Really. But I'm not going to make it a New Year's resolution or anything. Wednesday, December 10, 2008. Isaac is eating food. He refuses anyth...

The Middle of Somewhere: October 2008
http://smaccalaska.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
The Middle of Somewhere. Teaching, living, and now raising a male offspring unit in Nunapitchuk, Alaska. Thursday, October 23, 2008. I've always been convinced that elementary is the level I was meant to teach. I'm certified K-12, but my entire teaching career has been at the elementary level (and most of that in the primary grades). And I kind of enjoy it. Sick, huh? I supervise boys and girls whose idea of coy flirtation is throwing mechanical pencils at each others' heads. Thursday, October 23, 2008.

The Middle of Somewhere. Teaching, living, and now raising a male offspring unit in Nunapitchuk, Alaska. Wednesday, February 11, 2009. One of my main. hmm. I don't want to say beefs, but maybe just plain old complaints with life in the Bush has been its general lack of access to fresh/quality produce. Enter Full Circle Farm. Shaun took a picture of our bounty; I'll either update this post or link to his when he gets it up. And now. WE FEAST! Wednesday, February 11, 2009. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I sai...

The Middle of Somewhere: Anchorage!
http://smaccalaska.blogspot.com/2009/03/anchorage.html
The Middle of Somewhere. Teaching, living, and now raising a male offspring unit in Nunapitchuk, Alaska. Saturday, March 07, 2009. This year, we have a four day weekend for our "spring break." Having not had many excursions out of the village this year, we decided what the heck, let's take a little mini-vacation. It became evident that the airplane gods were not deciding in our favor. But did we let this stop us? Pics to come. :D. Saturday, March 07, 2009. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). July 5, 2013...

The Middle of Somewhere. Teaching, living, and now raising a male offspring unit in Nunapitchuk, Alaska. Friday, July 18, 2008. I'll put them on Isaac when he wakes up from his nap and hopefully post a pic of him wearing them at some point. Friday, July 18, 2008. Friday, July 11, 2008. REALLY, REALLY, REALLY Random Non-Baby-Related Thought. I really, really, really get annoyed when people use unnecessary big words. And now back to our regularly scheduled mundane crap. Friday, July 11, 2008. My sister has...

The Middle of Somewhere: Well, Then
http://smaccalaska.blogspot.com/2008/12/well-then.html
The Middle of Somewhere. Teaching, living, and now raising a male offspring unit in Nunapitchuk, Alaska. Wednesday, December 10, 2008. It's been a while. Thanksgiving has come and gone, and the holidays are all up in our faces. The year has blown by. I think that, just like the pregnancy made last year go so quickly, school-wise, having a baby around to mark the passage of time is doing the same this year. Just a few updates:. And with that, I leave you. Don't let the holidays stress you out. Yes, Sara, ...

The Middle of Somewhere: A Whole New Perspective
http://smaccalaska.blogspot.com/2009/05/whole-new-perspective.html
The Middle of Somewhere. Teaching, living, and now raising a male offspring unit in Nunapitchuk, Alaska. Thursday, May 07, 2009. A Whole New Perspective. Back in the day, I was a Bethel-hater. As a new-ish teacher in a village who had to come in semi-regularly for inservices, I saw it as this place that was hard to get around, expensive, and not necessarily worth the effort. If I was going to leave my comfortable little cocoon, I'd rather go into Anchorage and get some "big city" out of the deal. But we'...
