December 2, 2011. The four-day Thanksgiving holiday weekend was just the right length of time to get a lot of work done. In addition to touching up the last few tracks of. I slammed through some initial remixes for. Some of the mixes online right now are incomplete, and of course, I’ll be tweaking them endlessly from now until time eternal. At first, I thought I would be remodeling these tracks in the similar fashion I redid. The material calls for it — the style of music on. Original Confidence is now a...

The One to Make You Whole. Don't Disturb This Groove. Hear the Wind Sing. A compilation is supposed to happen sometime after a debut album. It isn’t the debut album itself. So the subtitle of this particular release is “An Overview of Eponymous 4”. As if that hair is really split. Came together as a Christmas card. About 10 people received it. So rather than wait for all four albums and five EPs to get done, I put together the stuff that felt like singles. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window).

Eponymous 4 returns again! July 14, 2012. The last item posted on this site dates back to Dec. 2, 2011, right before a pretty big event in my life — I got a new job and moved from Austin to Seattle. Of course, that kind of disruption takes a while to settle down, and it didn’t help matters to perform a few upgrades to the studio computer. That alone took a few weeks to resolve. But now Eponymous 4 is back, and while I haven’t been posting, I have been remixing. A lot. A Ghost in My Shadow.

State of Eponymous 4 Address, Nov. 2014. November 14, 2014. It’s been more than a year since I’ve posted here on the site, which is extraordinary given all the things that have happened in that time. Back in 2013, I embarked on releasing the Ex Machina Series, which included 4 albums, 4 EPs and a compilation. Pretty much, everything that’s been posted on the site till now. It was a lot of work that somehow made posting here the bottom rung in priorities. I don’t have a release date set, but if I ge...

A Ghost in My Shadow | Eponymous 4

A Ghost in My Shadow. Risk (Wait and See). Beat of the Heart. At the time I wrote my earliest songs, I thought I would love them forever. I didn’t realize I would forget them so easily. But the were preserved on staff paper, yellowed and stained after two decades of neglect. And the ideas therein belie the youth of the hand that wrote them. All that flowery language to say: Man, did I suck. That was the challenge. The experience, and perhaps the results, were surprisingly satisfying. A Ghost in My Shadow.

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow. Strivers for a Better Tomorrow. The Nature of Things. It’s tough to work in the communications or technology industries during a Mercury Retrograde. In astrology, Mercury reigns over these areas, and when its motion appears to go backward in the sky, it causes all sorts of problems. A Ghost in My Shadow. I revised a number of tracks to the point where they bear little to no resemblance to their original takes. A few songs existed only as sketches and finally got fleshed out.

Don't Disturb This Groove. The Closer I Get to You. So Straight and Slow. What if Garbage covered Linda Ronstadt? Era U2 covered Bruce Robison? Or My Bloody Valentine covering Gabby Pahinui?
