Back by popular demand: Missed out a huge chunk of my life where prob should have blogged but guess better late then never. (and I couldn’t sleep last night so the result below:). Jlem, Hebrew U, Second Week of my Masters:. Will start with my course… I have to say I’m loving it! I spent Yom Kippur in Tsfat and the night before we did Kapparot-but the real thing with live chickens!

After our first village experience of 3 days in Sindrawati last month, I thought we were “hard core”, living with the locals, eating meals with families, sleeping in their homes. We can now fetch water from the well about 150 metres down the road, heat it on the stove and have a bucket shower! After my first such shower I felt like a million rupees!

Water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink. 8220;Water water everywhere but not a drop to drink.” This phrase seemed particularly apt this past week in Mahadevbesi, where although there are streams of water flowing almost everywhere making it almost impossible to leave the house without getting ourselves caked in mud, our tanks remained empty. Let me explain.
